It's been about 3 months since I started this blog, and I'm loosing steam.
I started out writing everyday and now it's dwindled down to a few times a week. I have some good topics in my head, only to stumble upon another blogger who's already covered the subject. Coming to terms with being a minivan driver... The ridiculousness of the word verification process... Those posts were in my head, and now they're out the window. I'm at a loss.
So, here is where you all come in. I need some help. Give me some suggestions of things to blog about. Funny book? Tidbit of news? Something that drives you crazy? Whatever. You will get one entry for every suggestion you give, so the more the better.
In return I will randomly choose one of you to win a most amazing prize from my short lived little store, "Bread and Butter" (a cute little kitchen shop filled with fabulous goodies found at stores like Anthropologie and Pottery Barn) The prize consists of an enamel toiletries bowl, soap bowl, 2 adorable hand embroidered bee guest towels, a hen dishtowel, a set of hen napkin rings and a secret bonus. It's valued at well over $75, and I'll even wrap it up all nice and pretty.
So, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours, ok?
Make sure to check back Monday, June 9th to see if you've won!

Update: And the winning contest entry is... Laura: "What you are cooking- I LOVE finding new, quick, easy recipes. You can do a weekend menu, a full week menu, or just something fun you cooked and post when you feel like it."
Thank you all the great ideas, I had lots of fun reading them.
I will be racking my brain for a fabulous recipe to share!

20 people who actually care:
Mmmmmmmmmm, I am in love with the napkin rings so here goes. This is stuff I would love to read about; any amusing (or scary) birthing stories, tales of the food shop with small people in tow, the things small people say. Rants about taxes, bad drivers, the weather, family holidays, anything is good for me.
When I expressed my desire to start a blog of my own at the beginning of the year my Mum was confused and didn't get why, she said "It's like keeping a secret diary for exhibitionists" and she's right really, I love to see into other people's lives.
I must just say that I love your blog and your children are wonderful.
Don't pick me (randomly) as shipping will be a financial nightmare, just make sure your goodies go to a good home!

Ok- I'll give this a shot (some ideas are from other blogs I read, but I like and think they can be done originally by each blogger):
1. flash back 'friday' (or whatever day/name you want to call it). You can post youtube MTV videos from the 80s, toys from long gone days, old pics of your family, etc.
2. birthing choices, options, information, personal stories, funny antidotes, etc.
3. product of the month (kitchen item, great find on sale at crate and barrel or amazon, magazine you love, clothes, shoes, whatever your heart desires to tell us about!)
4. Events and happenings in your area (I'm sure you have readers in your general vicinity)
5. Books you are currently reading and your review/recommendation (usually it's only great to hear about the must-reads, or the disastrous 'do not reads')
6. Craft projects with kids (if you're not crafty, as I am not, you can always find crafty blogs and just post about what they did, a pic and link to them as a great idea to share with your readers)
7. What you are cooking - I LOVE finding new, quick, easy recipes. You can do a weekend menu, a full week menu, or just something fun you cooked and post when you feel like it.
8. Funny stories/disasters that happen to you/your kids. A good laugh is always fun to read. :)
9. Holiday info (ideas for fathers day gifts, what you are doing to celebrate, etc)
10. Every now and then, you can post 'some of your current favorite things' (ex: blogs you are currently reading and like, books you are reading, recipes you are making, shows you are watching, ways you are telling your husband you love him, etc). Have a different theme each time, and list 5 items.
I think that's all the ideas I have for now... hope they are helpful!! Good luck.
I always get good blog material when I'm out and about with the boyz. Like at Wal-Mart or Target. Or the playground.
Love the kitchen stuff!

OH! Show us that "book" shelf you have in Evan's room! So cute!!
Um, so maybe I am missing something, but you don't want to write what other people write about, right? All the suggestions are of what other people write about! :)
Write about whatever the H you want! You have a different way of telling it then other poeple, so yours will be great!

Great ideas, ladies! Thank you!!!
Laura, what a list- you may have this one in the bag.
And, Daisie I will totally ship this overseas should you win :)
Lauren, I'm just feeling uninspired lately and was looking for some good ideas. (And I'm a bit of a comment whore, so it made sense to me.)
Well done then! I am a huge fan of comments as well. Something to look forward to ;)
Aaaaaaaand, as far as Rachael Ray goes, people honestly have nothing better to do. A paisley scarf? Come on!

Well I have loved all of your blogs and look forward to reading them...so here are some of my ideas:
1) The best blogs are the "mommy mistakes". My fave was the "fuck it" one :) It just shows how we are all human make mistakes.
2) More about food!! I love food and would like to hear more about your dinners/ recipes.
3) More stories from your college years. I can relate to those, plus you are so cool now that I know you were back then :)
4) Blog about current events...like how stupid politicians can be (I'm sure you can guess which ones I'm talking about ;).
5) The blogs that make you go "Yuck!" can be the best ones. Like the spitting up in your mouth blog. I like the little daily shockers!:)
6) Okay, I'm running out of steam, but the complaining about your husband blogs are good too. It's fun to bitch about men and I think everyone can relate to those (even the unmarried ones like me :)
p.s. I totally get the comment whore thing. Thats how I am about facebook and myspace. Can't wait to see you guys this weekend!:)
I agree with the comment about more stories from college. You have so many great stories from your past.
Can't believe I forgot this but I have seen a few, "This is what's in my handbag...." Very interesting indeed!!

Such cute stuff!!
Here's a few ideas
1: Choose your own adventure-write stories from your life (embarrassing, whatever) and give your readers 3 possible endings
2. Top ten lists-ten favorite books, ten favorite Etsy stores, etc.
That's all I can think of for now-I swear I had more ideas, but they are gone....
I love that you are a "comment whore." You are super fabulous.
Okay, so my favorite blogs have been the ones about the really random stuff Lil or Ben do that drive you crazy or make you smile. LOVED the toothbrush in the toilet blog. LOVED it.
Also, you should blog about karaoke. That's my one and only idea simply because I'm trying to compose a blog of my own about it!!
Whatever you write, I will read. :)
I have a topic-since i live on the Upper West Side (AKA strollerville) how about the ridiculous level that strollers have been taken to? I mean - they are like small Hummers!
Love ya!
I would love to jettison some of the topics that haunt me in the shower. Of course, now I can't think of any of them.
1. what would you be doing right now if you didn't have kiddos?
2. if you were a criminal, what crimes would you commit?
3. how has your household changed as your kids have grown?
I am apparently YOUR comment whore, as I came back to your blog to read your readers comments. Exactly how sad does that make me? Nope, dont answer that. There are some good ideas here! Definitely agree with the college, and more 'fuck it' stories. Keep em rollin.
You make me laugh! Please don't stop blogging. Tell us funny stories about your kids, make up funny t shirt slogans or anything heck, I am hooked! You encourage me to just be me and well thats not half bad!
It's a good thing I didn't read this post before I wrote my "Mid-Blog Crisis" post, because then I would have had the same problem as you.
You're already back on track, and I have absolutely no help for you anyway. I never know where my next post is coming from.
Hilarious blog!
I found you via SITS. You could blog about "Wordless Wednesday","Fhoto Fun Friday", cute things your kids say, shopping trips, places you have been, your summer, share recipes, just write about daily happenings with your family and friends!
