Your 42 Week Old Baby’s Physical, Social, And Cognitive Milestones

These days, your 42 week old baby probably loves doing lots of gross things with her food. She loves the way things feel all smooshed up and spread across her face like a squash-flavored beard. Try to get over the mess of meal time by just pulling an Elsa and…letting it go. She won’t always be this messy and she’s learning about the world one egg-mohawk at a time.

Your 42 Week Old Baby’s Development & Growth Milestones

If you’re thinking about weaning your baby at twelve months you might want to begin a gradual approach to this, as your hormones can go haywire if you go cold turkey. Remember, even if your baby is starting to eat a lot of table foods, she still needs about 16-24 ounces of formula or breast milk per day until she’s twelve months old. And no honey or cow’s milk yet!

You may notice that if things don’t go quite his way, your little one is doing some experimenting with tantrums. And as cute as it looks, it’s super important to not encourage his anger by giving in or giving the tantrum a ton of attention. Firm, loving and the word “no” is always a good combination. And try your hardest not to burst out laughing, hard as it may be!
