This was the first weekend of not dressing myself and it was absolutely liberating. Normally, clothes would be strewn about my closet and I would try at least four outfits before leaving the house. This time, I had no choice. I was ready in a blink and was the first, rather then the last one to the door. It was really kind of nice.
The most notable event of the weekend was that I wore shorts and a hat. All day. In public. And, I survived! Once this challenge is over, I don’t think I’ll be making a habit of either one, but it wasn’t as bad as I feared it would be. Look at me, I’m growing!
Lily told me I looked like a fisherman. Can’t say I disagree.
We had a pretty low-key Mother’s Day, which included brunch, gardening and only mildly bickering children.
I cheated on this outfit and wore a cardigan, A. because it was legitimately chilly and B. because my arms will never see the light of day. It seemed to come together pretty well, I think.
The earrings were my favorite part…
Click to buy anything from Saturday or Sunday and click here to outfit me this week– please!?

Love the second outfit. Beautiful top.

Cheating on outfit two was totally acceptable (I think a cute cardigan is kind of a necessity)! You look great! That color green is really good on you! And I think I might need those earrings!
As for the fisherman-look… um – where is your fun yellow scarf??

A cute cardigan is totally a necessity! And, the scarf & sweater were just so bulky and it was warm. But, I did carry them in the bag, just in case. :)
You look so pretty scary mommy! Sounds like you had a nice mother’s day!
Yep, second outfit for sure. You look great in green, and those earrings are soooo cute!

The earrings and tote are way bigger than I thought. Love the earrings.
While you look great both times, I’m not a fan of the hat.
Nor was I. But, I get an A for wearing it all day, right?
The first outfit was cute but I love the second one. And, I have to agree with Liz, the cardigan only made the outfit better. Love the earrings!

I agree with Lily myself, but the second outfit is great. :)
You’re such a good sport.

I know. It was impossible to be offended. The shirt is one of my favorites, but not so much with the shorts. I love it with a denim skirt, though.
Good for you to wear shorts. I just can’t bring myself to. As soon as I hit 37, I tossed them all. Now if only I could avoid a swimsuit. Damn kids and their love for the pool.
You look smokin’ though – in both outfits. Love those earrings and I think I will grab them at Target today.

I haven’t worn shorts since I was a kid. I just don’t see a need– I have skirts and capris and dresses. Totally enough options.
Cute outifts! I think you look like You dont like that hat :) But you could pull it off – its cute, adds to the outfit.. And the sweater was a def yes on the second outfit, those earrings were big, but the ruffle on the shirt was cute :) This is fun – like a living paper doll :)
You look totally awesome in both outfits. So jealous…having someone else dress me would be the equivalent of having a personal chef…dare to dream….
LOVE both these outfits and will be visiting Target soon (like I’m not there everyday anyway) to check them out.
Can’t wait to see more!
I love the green top as well, and I think you made the outfit even better by adding the cardigan.

You looked lovely on Mother’s day. And may I say out loud that the ad for Woodland ZOO under this post helped me make plans for this weekend. So thank you!

I’m not a fan of the hat. And I’m hoping you brought it along only for the photo and then tucked it right back into the bag you brought it in. ;)
Loving the second outfit! The picture of you with those earring is adorable and I seriously just bought them. Thanks for the link!!
Super cute! You must be having TONS of fun doing this! I would be!!!
You look so cute! You can totally pull off a hat!!

I like the second outfit much better than the first one. But I think you look pretty great in both outfits. And I am sure you loved the extra time it gave you. I had to dress myself this weekend. It sucked. I still have to put the clothes away from yesterday’s clothes-tastrophe.

I would have to agree with Lily- you do look like a fisherman.
On the other hand- those earrings? I would do you for those. Or perhaps I could just click on the link above and get my own.

I have to say I am not a fan of the hat. Then again, I don’t fancy hats much to begin with. BUT, I do think you should make it a habit of showing of those gams! I know you’ve been hearing it a lot, but it is true that you should not be ashamed of those legs. If only you could see the transparency of my skin you would feel like a super model.
I love the second outfit! The shoes look very cute, but I’m wondering how comfortable they were. I’m VERY picky about my shoes. I think I would be okay with other people picking my outfits for me, but no way would I let them pick my shoes! too much risk of discomfort.
After our Twitter convo the other day I went through and voted for outfits with NO shorts. AND I shared them with friends so they could vote too. Hopefully that will ensure no more shorts in the rotation. You’re welcome.
And I just went to Target today. I’ll have to go back and look for those earrings.

I like the first outfit (minus the hat). It looks cute on you and you do you look a little like a fisherman. Glad to see you got to wear some flats instead of heels.

Love the teal shirt and earrings. And I don’t think the first outfit made you look like a fisherman. Unless you were a preppy fisherman on the way to the yacht and country club.
The earrings are fab – and watchu talkin’ bout woman, you look great in shorts! Hope you had a wonderful mother’s day.
I love these outfits! I just got a dress by Tucker at Target. So cute!!

You are so totally awesome. This is the coolest thing ever. You are looking fabulous in your Target attire. Sadly, with our income, I’m uhhh……wearing stuff from high school…….which is really old stuff. Old…….but once I get a job……I’m shopping at Target
