Watching our kids compete is tough. Watching them compete at the Olympics? That’s a stress that most sports-parents have not dealt with.

Imagine the years of dedication, training, and time it takes to get to the Olympic games. How do you think you’d handle watching your child compete? Probably pretty similarly to the way Gymnast Aly Raisman’s parents do. They are basically all of us: if we had Olympians as kids.

It’s not the first time Raisman’s parents have been recognized for their nervous behavior in the stands. They first caught fans’ attention at the London Games:

When Raisman’s dad, Rick Raisman, first watched footage of he and his wife Lynn in 2012, he told USA Today, “I’m a little horrified right now. Oh my gosh!”

“It’s funny,” his wife added.

“At first we don’t want her to know where we are in the stands so we’re almost hiding,” Rick admitted. “It’s just one of those moments. It’s just so magnified. Every single twist and turn. It’s just crazy.”

The 22-year-old gymnast nailed her routine, helping her qualify for the all-around final for the second Olympics in a row. Something tells us that won’t stop her parents from continuing to squirm under pressure.

They just may be a good luck charm. They are definitely hilarious.
