I was ready to haul Lily off to the shrink when I caught a glimpse of this recent drawing. Were my inappropriate movie choices beginning to manifest themselves in her sweet brain? Had she accidentally caught the evening news when I thought she was sleeping soundly in my room? Did Halloween have a lasting impact on her? Just what was going on inside that twisted little head?
Any guesses?

The drawing was actually the first of a wedding series Lily drew. The groom’s tie had blown in the wind, hence the expression on his face. (You can understand his frustration, yes?)

It seems my daughter doesn’t need that therapy quite yet.

It looks like an opera scene to me. Perhaps she’s been listening to Don Giovanni.
The lady in the black dress is happy to see her surprised friend and is going to hug her? Yeah, that’s it……..I’m sticking to that story. It makes me feel good ;)

Looks like the Love Jedi (note heart shaped mouth and eyes on dark figure), it going after your little Angel….maybe first crush? LOL
i’m going to go with kat on this one. i’m totally believing that its just 2 friends really really REALLY excited to see each other. and (to agree with tiffany as well) the black figure is so excited to see her yellow friend that she forgot to put a shirt on and that’s why she’s only wearing a purple bra. coem on, we’ve all done that, right??!quite the imagination on that little one (er…wait…i think WE have quite the imagination)!
I think it’s a ninja and Pocohontas.

Hmm… I’m thinking she was thinking, as she was drawing her masterpiece: “That’s the shade of red mommy turns when she yells at me for doing something bad or when I don’t listen!” Heehee… ;)

The red-faced dude is clearly Johnny Depp. The yellow girl is Helena Bonham Carter.

Clearly this is the temptation of Jesus. The devil is daring him to jump from the cliff and have angels catch him, and Jesus is seriously debating it, just to shut the dude up (and ’cause he is uncomfortable with the devil’s purple bra choice)

I would say that this is her “Mommy” on the right- and maybe her on the left……I don’t know! Or, is it a brother/sister? I do believe you have a little artist in the making, this picture has a lot of detail!

It really does scream Phantom with a bra singing/lunging at a beautiful ear of corn! Not psycho – just throwing a lot of stuff t0gether. I do love th4e purple bra though…
While it’s very possible she is drawing about Halloween, I would put equal odds to the fact that this is a paid advertisement for sunblock. My daughter always includes sunblock in her art. The beautiful girl is carelessly playing in the bright sun and alas, some poor kids whose parents hate him, is trying to warn her “Don’t let this happen to you! You don’t want your face this sunburn! My whole body is covered in sunpoisoning and now I have to stay completely covered up. Use your sunscreen! Brought to you by *insert sunblock brand*.

Umm, because she’s a member of the Scary Family? That drawing is awesome. I hope Angry Toddler draws like that when he’s older.

Well, looks like a couple of broads in party dresses to me. Both are smiling, and the one in the yellow appears to be wearing a nifty pillbox hat. :)
Both dresses are pretty well designed too… with almost a corset-like panel in the front on the black, and a slight ruching on the yellow.
WAIT! I know. It’s Kanye interrupting Taylor Swift.

I say the yellow figure looks like Lemon Marange Pie from Strawberry shortcake…. and the “scary” figure is just the purple pie man, as you can see she attempted to go over it with purple crayon.
No worries Jill— its just Strawberry Shortcake art. Not scary at all.
She is going to go into advertising. This is her interpretation and logo design for your “Scary Mommy” website.
Mom’s head swells red and round as she scolds her angelic daughter (I see the halo). Still mom is dressed like a nun, so, underneath the anger she really sees her mom as a sacred loving character just pushed to the limits of cracking.
She’s got a promising future!

Hubs wondered if our son was “creative” or in need of therapy when he told him the other night that he “couldn’t sleep because all of his (stuffed) animals were singing too loud!”

I love how little kid’s minds work and how we think that they are working. Lily is a good artist. I should really post some of Hayden’s artwork. Now his mind, is going to need some therapy someday.
Her artwork would make a Kindergarten teacher proud.

When my oldest was about 5 -her drawings scared me so much I did show them to a shrink. THere were knives and blood spurting from people and stuff.
After a short visit from Social Services, it was deemed that she just liked carrots and the color red.
