don’t forget to have great sex! i was a bit of a wild child in my youth, but now i feel like i don’t have enough hours in the day to make love to my dh. when we finally do get some alone time, were lucky to catch a nap and a slice of cold pizza, much less make time for forplay. i really miss having the time to just let my hair down.

Your sex life will never be the same..oh sure maybe at first with that first one..then they grow. They want to sleep in your bed..in the middle.Or they wander in at inopportune moments “Yay! I wanna play horsie too!” Then they are tweens..and suspicious.They invite every friend they have to stay overnight at your house..your are more booked than the Holiday Inn. Then they are teens and KNOW what you might be thinking..they organize the littler ones and take turns parading past your door all night like Sgt. Schultz on Hogan’s Heroes..”Zherrr villll beeee noooo monkey bizznezzzzzzz!!!” *sigh* I have kids from 2 to 22 under my roof at any given time….

My BIGGEST regret is not traveling. We were focusing so much on our careers, that we never took breaks. Now it is so hard to travel with our son and we never go anywhere. I have friends whom have traveled to so many awesome places. I have barely been anywhere.

Also, I would want my bills paid off. Working full-time and parenting is not fun. If we had less bills, I could step down to a lower paying job.

Oh, and advice? Am I supposed to be giving out parenting advice? Hmmm…start discussing life phiosophies with your spouse. My husband and I have very different feelings on certain topics dealing with our son. We constantly disagree over school, sports, you name it. I always have to justify my reasoning.

I would advise going to school before you have children. We’re so broke right now so I’ve gone back to school for my Master’s Degree. I am more exhausted than ever and have a never ending cold because I can’t rest enough to boost my immune system.

Do not stare, point, sigh or roll your eyes at parents trying to control their little one in public because some day it will be you! Remember that little thing called karma…

Also, don’t say “my kid will never behave like that” or “I won’t do that as a parent” because you have no clue what you’re in for! Here’s my reality check list!
