Welcome! I'm Jill and I’m much scarier than I may appear. Or, at least I like to think so.
My son named me Scary Mommy during a phase where he was scared of everything, including his grilled cheese sandwiches. So, maybe I’m not all that scary after all, but Pushover Mommy didn’t quite have the same ring to it.
Scary Mommy has appeared in top publications such as the New York Times, cnn.com, msn.com, Ms. Magazine, Parenting Magazine and Washingtonian Magazine. Some pieces I like more than others. I was a keynote speaker at BlogHer '10, among other speaking engagements.

Oh, I so want to meet Nutella.
LOL, Can I be friends with Nutella too???
Nutella brings me back to my summer in Europe. OH….I thought I was done with cravings!!!!
I think he likes it!
I’ve never tried Nutella. I’ve heard it’s all the rage. But, I just can’t seem to get past the name.
It does nothing for my senses.
Except for the puckering. Not sure what that is all about.
Yum Yum Yum. I only discovered the wonder of Nutella last year… it’s deeeeelish.
What a smart boy! Nutella is a very, very good friend. Especially when you bring along his best pal peanut butter. :)
SO adorable. I discovered Nutella when I went abroad to Ireland during college. A love affair ensued.
That’s a great meeting:-)
I just tried nutella for the first time a few months ago. That is some awesome stuff! I love it! Great with Grahm Crackers.
Too cute!
I agree with one of the other posters – nutella and pb all spread out on some bread is awesome!
My 2 older kids never took to nutella – I think something is wrong with them….
I have yet to try this … is it exotic like Australians???
I think Ben & I would be good, good friends.
mmmm, Nutella, yummy. Ben’s very lucky that his mommy keeps Nutella in the house….I’m not allowed to have it in my house. :(
Hahaha love these pictures! Thanks for visiting my place the other day. It’s always so nice to “meet” new people. Looking forward to getting to know you better.
Ah yes, Nutella. A wonderful concoction! Friends for life is right! It’s a great friend of my butt and thighs! I buy it when I am watching carb intake though, it’s good in a pinch. (I lost 120 lbs) which I want to STAY gone! His precious face describes the taste perfectly! With gratitude, Laurie B.
Maternal Mirth: Oh that made me giggle. Exotic like an Australian. We Aussies have our kick-arse Vegemite :-)
Nutella is my friend of a friend. That friend being cellulite, hehe
Sooo Cute.. I didn’t know you could get Nutella in the states…
Oh, I coulod eat an entire jar BY MY SELF….. YUM!
Can’t eat that stuff. Just can’t do it.
mmmm, Nutella!!! Although it is perfectly yummy to eat it as is… Giada has a ton of desserts featuring it. I personally want to try to nutella ravioli.
One of mine could look like this after one M&M. Food – a true multi-sensory experience.
OK so I live in a bubble. What is Nutella? Is it the chocolatey looking stuff the little cute guy is eating?
Love that little guy. And he is a purist like me – just the spoon and the Nutella. Nothing else to get in the way.
The only sandwich worth eating around here is PB and Nutella. Yumma.
If you’ve never had Nutella, you must try it. It’s a chocolate/hazelnut spread that is to die for. It’s more popular in Europe than here, but you can find it at most grocery stores with the peanut butter. It’s good on crepes, toast, graham crackers etc., but best on a spoon. And I almost never buy it, because I simply can’t resist it!!
HA – My son’s lunch everyday at school – he hates PBJ!!
That kid is absolutely stunning!
Looks like love to me :)
Happy FFF!
Nutella a friend that never lets you down.
I love those messy faces. They are the cutest and they look the best when they head straight to the bath tub after dinner.
yum. I need some of that on my bread right now. :)
My kids discovered Nutella at my sisters house last month. There’s not turning back now. :)
I know how he feels. I still remember my first time…..
Now I want some. He should be a pitch man…or boy.
haha – Ben and I would be good friends – I JUST HAD NUTELLA and pretzles right before I went online and read your post! what a coincidence!
Ya know, I JUST picked up a jar at the store last night. I mean, I picked it up, and then put it down. I was checking it out because I hear all good stuff about it. I just have to get it next time and schmear it on something. Is that what one does with Nutella?
And to think I lived for about 29 years before I had my first spoonful. Over a decade after my first taste, I introduced it to my kidlet not long ago. She fell in love at first bite as well!
What a cutie!
My brother love, loves nutella! He’s three years older than me and that’s what he’d always put (among other things) in my “care packages” when I was in college….funny, huh?
Oh he is cute!!!
I still have never tried this stuff. Not sure I ever will.
I think I need to meet Nutella!
I’m with Ben, I love Nutella too!!
My daughter, who is 16, just discovered it a year ago and hasn’t looked back! It’s on my weekly shopping list. Yes, you read that right, she goes through a small jar every week!
He sure is enjoying it! I can’t have it I’m allergic to hazelnuts, not fair!
What great shots – super cute kiddo!! Looks like he kinda likes it. :) Nutella reminds me of living in Greece.
My kids are Nutella fiends. It is chocolatey goodness. :-)
ha ha! Very cute! I grew up on Nutella.
I LOVE Nutella! We lived in Germany from the time I was 3 til I was 6 and they had something very much like that there. Except it was called something else that we couldn’t pronounce, so we called it doodoo. ;)
I think Nutella is pretty much the best food ever… mmmmmmm
