Big Brother & Little Brother

Last night, I walked in on Ben and Evan coloring all over themselves with markers. {Again}

Benjamin, I scolded, you are the big brother. You are the one who needs to help teach Evan what’s right and what’s wrong. This is wrong. Don’t you understand that?

I know, mommy, he answered. That’s what I was doing: Teaching Evan what’s wrong.

Terrific.

Smart boy you have there. It’s scary when that kind of thing starts to make perfect sense, right?

I’ve had this same discussion with my 4yo daughter. Except, I didn’t get such a witty response. What a charmer. How can you get mad at that?

As a mother of 2 kids that are 12 years apart, I can realllllly appreciate this! Sometimes I think my 2 year old is teaching my 14 year old things! Could be that the older one is a boy, and, as we know, girls are smarter! KIDDING! :O)

That’s awesome! Last night my son poked his sister in the face with a pen and so she poked him back….so it begins the “He started it” craziness circle (it was the first time one of them said it) I’ve been waiting for it and now here it is!

Baahhaaahaaa! I LOVE this! My littlest ballerina is a total rascal and she is constantly “teaching” her friends “what is wrong”. (ie – cutting her and her friends’ hair off, coloring on the furniture, etc)

It’s nice to know I’m not alone.
