Saving with Chippmunk

I am officially done with my holiday shopping.

Um, excuse me, did you read that?

I AM OFFICIALLY DONE WITH MY HOLIDAY SHOPPING!!!!

Ok, ok, so I had it easy celebrating Thanksgivingukkah and all, but there were still people other than my family who needed gifts. And those are all done, too. I’m feeling pretty awesome about it all in case you didn’t notice. Better yet? Not a single gift was purchased in person. No mall, no crazy parking lots, no stressed out sales clerk. I did all of my holiday shopping from the comfort of my own couch. And it was beautiful.

One site that helped me accomplish this holiday miracle of timeliness was Chippmunk.

Chippmunk is a coupon search engine – imagine a kayak.com for coupons. The folks there aggregate and rank online coupons and deals in over 25 popular shopping categories so that you can see — based on the budget you enter — exactly how much you’ll save at each store. Chippmunk has partnerships with over 600 leading retailers, many of whom offer us exclusive coupons. There’s even an “Estimated Arrival Feature”, which helps you order from stores that can deliver within a short period of time or in time for Christmas. And unlike most coupon sites, Chippmunk verifies every code they publish and don’t keep expired coupons on the page, so you’ll never waste time finding a deal you can’t use.

Say you have your heart set on the welcome mat I have from Wayfair…

You’d just search Wayfair coupons and choose the coupon that works best — free shipping? Save 10%? That’s up to you…

My other favorite deals this season were from Mark and GrahamSephora, and Birchbox, but you can choose between more than 600 leading retailers. There is definitely something for everybody.

Share your best deal for a chance to win an iPad Air now through December 17th. And be sure to tell me, too. Because there is little I love more than a bargain. Want a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card? Just leave a comment and I’ll use randomizer.org pick a winner Sunday, December 15th at midnight.

I liked scary mommy before all the commercial plugs.. it seems to have lost something now.. it doesn’t feel as sincere as it did before.. I’m sure you have to do them to keep the site up and running I just hate it, that’s all.. it makes me sad when good websites that I genuinely enjoy going to get overly commercial and stop focusing on what started the website in the first place.. seems like the only guy who has been able to keep his shit ad free is Frank from postsecret

ALL the commercial plugs? This is the first sponsored post I have done in over 7 months, on a site that costs thousands of dollars a month to maintain and I spend 99% of my time on. Terribly sorry that it makes you so sad, but my heart isn’t bleeding over here.

i wasn’t trying to be overly dickish in my response to this post.. i just assumed you wanted all types of feedback on the site from the people who read it every day? responses other than blindly positive feedback.. it’s a great site, and i love it.. i’m sure it takes a lot of your time and energy and what not.. my mistake in thinking you might care what your readers think about the direction that it’s going in.. i won’t make the same mistake again–i apologize for any offense i may have given

Thank you for not trying to be a dick, I appreciate that. But, so you understand, this site is a job for me and I do my best to NOT make it commercial… but I have bills to pay, too. It’s a really fine line and something I’m (obviously) sensitive about. Most of the time, I appreciate feedback, I just hate getting it on the extremely rare occasion when I do a post like this.

Wow I think the second response was still pretty dick-ish!! “Overly commercial”? Come on, any commercialization that is benefitting those in need, especially helping to make holidays better for the less fortunate, is good. Stop giving her a hard time, she works her ass off for others.
