How do I change my profile picture? Click on your name at the top of the boards. Once you do, you will see “My Preferences” towards the bottom of the page. Choose “Change My Picture”  Tutorial from your phone here and computer here.

 

How do I add a signature? Click on your name at the top of the boards. Once you do, you will see “My Preferences” towards the bottom of the page. Choose “Signature Settings” and personalize your message. Tutorial here.

 

How do I tag someone? Put the “@” symbol directly before their username (no space)

 

How do I edit comments or quote someone? Tutorial here.

 

How do I flag inappropriate content? Tutorial here.

 

How do I change what notifications I get? Click on your name at the top of the boards. Once you do, you will see “My Preferences” towards the bottom of the page. Click it and then a pop up will appear with all of the options– change them to e-mail or pop-ups or none. Voila! Tutorial here.

 

How do I start a private message? From your computer: Click inbox. On the right side of the page, find “Start a new conversation.” Type in the name of the person you wish to message. From your phone, Click inbox and then click on the white bubble top right and type the name of the person you wish to message. Tutorial here.

How do I delete my account? Any one of our Community Managers can deactivate your account for you. Members wishing to leave the community may do so at any time. However, Scary Mommy reserves the right to use all message board postings, confessions, and comments anonymously, in any medium. Which means, your account will be deactivated, your profile photo will be removed, and all activity from your profile wall will be removed, but all of your message board comments will remain. If you feel you have posted something that specifically needs to be removed, such as personal information, please let our CMs know where to find that post so that they can remove it for you.
