Sarcasm doesn’t always convey here, on the world wide web. This post was one of those times. Illustrated below is ink blot art– you know, when you take globs of paint and press paper together and interpret it? I was totally and utterly not serious. This round, I’m clarifying that, so you can appreciate my genius interpretation. Though my children are bright, they really suck at following direction…
I told you my children were geniuses. Check out these masterpieces! I asked them to paint a heavy set Danish woman selling apples, a cheerful butterfly and a wicked maiden with long braids and an hourglass figure. They nailed it.

You know those posts that you wrote way back when only your mother was reading? The ones you wish actual people had read? That’s what Flashback Fridays are for. Don’t have any? How about that old story or photo that you could never find a reason to post? Republish it today, grab a button from here, sign Mr. Linky and play along! Don’t be shy! I’d love to see what you’ve got…

No?

Haha! Love it. I’ve seen “art” at the Tate Modern much worse, (not that your kids’ art isn’t genius) that had the art snobs standing around, chins in hands, oohing and ahhing over how “wonderful” it was.

I totally think your children are all creative geniuses. Drop science and math and get them to take art all the time – morning, noon, and night! ;-)

What? You mean you don’t SEE IT?! I’m shocked. Looks perfect to me. My flashback is from my first blog… when no one was reading. LOL!

Brilliant – Just Brilliant…
But, I will admit, those ink blots are a bit creepy at 7:30 in the morning when one is not running on a full tank of coffee.

The fact that you saw those things in their pictures may be kinda scary in itself! The fact that I saw them too makes me worry. :)

I totally see the Danish woman selling apples… although maybe it could also be interpreted as a mad cockatoo? This is fun!

I’ve tried, and tried to see a cockatoo and I just can’t. It’s a Danish lady, damn it!! ;)

I can totally see all those things. And these are very pretty.

I could totally see the danish woman with the apples. Too funny. I can’t play along yet though because my mom is still the only one reading my blog… I think she reads it, well her and my wife. I believe she only reads it because she’s my “editor”.

Yes I see it. They take direction really well. When is the NYC gallery opening?

The first one reminds me of Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars. The second I would say n evil clown, and the third…my ex-wife casting evil spells on me. Actually, I like your interpretations much better, as mine kinda show how messed up I must be!

Almost *nobody* got it. Maybe they just didn’t want to offend me, but the post was a major flop. At least I cracked myself up.

Who could misinterpret this? Fine art is inexplicable to *some* people…..
