Girls Night Out

I’ll give you one guess as to why the following statements from Lily last night had me grinning from ear to ear…

“These are the stupidest pajamas I’ve ever seen. I hate them!”

“You’re so mean!”

“I’m not cuddling with you tonight!”

“Go away!!!!”

Any guesses…? No?

The fortunate recipient of the above statements was my husband. For once. He never, ever, ever gets the brunt of Lily’s PMS style behavior. The irrational, moody and argumentative girl I know so well has been a stranger to Jeff. He was finally introduced to her last night, and I loved every single minute of it.

Just goes to show what a night out alone with Mommy can do.

And not having to tend to nails for the next two weeks? Icing on the cake.

Precious! Nothing like a pedi! You are teaching her well.

3 Elisa March 23, 2009 at 6:22 am

Ha! Gotta love girls – hanging out with them is soooo fun! But man, the drama. It’s like living with 2 of myself. On sugar highs. With infinite energy. It’s good to have dad take the brunt of it sometimes ;-)

How cute is that?!?!

5 Swirl Girl March 23, 2009 at 10:40 am

I love the pictures. But what did Jeff say? He has to understand what you’ve been saying all along!

Ha ha. I kind of sort of take pleasures in those moments too. I hate always being the ‘mean’ one.

9 Rachel March 23, 2009 at 10:02 am

Ahhh… Sweet revenge!

Looks like you two had a blast! I try to get away with just my oldest daughter every so often. It does help her mood, too.

She is so gorgeous!
And I love it when Adam gets the crap from the kids. Lets him know I am not making it up.

I need to have a night out with my girls… looks like fun!

Oh, and my MIL needs to see what little hellions my kids can be. She’s under the assumption that neither one can do no wrong.

16 T Rex Mom March 23, 2009 at 11:57 am

I find it to be a sanity check when my little one reveals all his stripes to his Dad – he has a better understanding of why I need a break. Love the photos of girls night.

21 Scary Mommy March 23, 2009 at 3:23 pm

Jeff knew what Lily could be like, he’s just never been at the receiving end of it. It was A.W.E.S.O.M.E. :)

22 Sue March 23, 2009 at 3:53 pm

Those pictures are so cute!! Yea it’s nice when the fathers get the brunt of the behavior once in awhile. Sweet.

Much love from NJ,
Sue

27 Casey March 23, 2009 at 8:03 pm

It IS nice when they spread the evil-love around isn’t it? Hope you enjoyed your mom’s night out:)

28 Amber March 23, 2009 at 8:56 pm

Ha, aren’t girls fun?

My daughter is two and is just learning how to speak. She totally has attitude already.

29 Wildfire Belle March 24, 2009 at 4:45 am

Nothing quite as satisfying as proving a point to a snowed-over spouse!

Someone to share a mani/pedi with, ahhhhh. Actually, maybe getting to go to my mani/pedi alone may turn out to be a good thing. I can always use the spa as a getaway from the dudes, because there is no way I’m taking any of them with me. Can you say bull in a china shop? Love your blog; found you on SITS:)

31 Live.Love.Eat March 24, 2009 at 5:18 am

Hah. I am, uh, happy for you :)
But really, that’s funny he is just getting a taste of that side of her. She is a cute one though with that sass.

32 Shalee Clark March 24, 2009 at 6:30 am

haha thats too cute.

33 nikkicrumpet March 24, 2009 at 6:37 am

LOL so sad when we find such profound joy in our hubbies distress…but sometimes they just deserve it ! Mine always makes fun of me because the computer does this stupid things when I’m using it…boots me off…locks up crap like that. His response is…”Gee it never does that whenI’m on it” …..so the other night I hear him cussing a blue streak and say “honey whats wrong” ….and I hear “DAMN COMPUTER KEEPS LOCKING UP!!” Needless to say I went in the other room and had myself a good laugh! That little one of yours is such a doll and it’s good to have her on your side for a change!

34 Ann March 24, 2009 at 7:04 am

LOL! That was a fun post.

Spa days are the best. Her smile says it all.

35 Tabitha Blue March 24, 2009 at 8:25 am

Hilarious!!! Isn’t it funny when they turn!!

awww… that is so sweet! Haha, glad you got some quality Mom time in! :) I can’t wait till my girl is old enough to go get nails done together! Well, I can… cuz I want her to stay little… But it still looks like so much fun!

37 jessica March 24, 2009 at 8:44 am

sadly, as a single parent I am the only one who gets that. Lucky you

38 Nicole March 24, 2009 at 1:09 pm

Hey – the SITStas say that our bloggy style is similar! So – the question is – would we really be FRIENDS, or would we DESPISE each other in real life? Hmmm….

Seriously LOVE this post. DO you think my boys would go with me for pedicures? Nahhhh.

39 John Deere Mom March 24, 2009 at 6:19 pm

Aw, she is such a cutie! What a fun day she had!

40 Jamaise March 24, 2009 at 11:22 pm

Her temperment sounds like that of a little boy I know :) Fun day – almost makes me want to have a little girl – almost.
