OMG! I just laughed so hard at this post and some of the comments. I ended up with two c-sections after trying my hardest to birth naturally (did get to experience pushing with my second and the joy of pooping in front of a slew of people and not caring one bit). I think it's gross either way (I mean come one, they take your insides out and place them to the side), but with a c-section, you get to be blissfully unaware of the grossness that is taking place thanks to the blue curtain.

What's wrong with c sections? I had one with my son because my body couldn't open for him. Now with my daughter I'm scheduled for another to avoid risk. I'm 5"2 120 llbs. I'm proud of my c section.

What's all this "worth it" talk? Bringing an innocent being into a world with ongoing wars, school shootups, and pedohiles isn't worth it to that person. If he wasn't brought into existence, he couldn't feel devastation and that's a huge favor to him.

...not only did I have the joy of crapping during delivery (the only time my husband was truly disgusted)...I had the joy of hemoraging after delivery. The nurse gave me a shot to stop my bleeding, but failed to tell me that one of the side effects was a bodily function that puts diarrhea to shame. Just as my friends and family gathered around my bed to ooh and aah over my beautiful newborn daughter, I completely crapped my pants in my hospital bed. Lovingly, the nurses cleaned me up like a diapered baby because I still had not regained feeling from my epidural. What a happy memory!

OMG I could totally relate to this. 1st child was horrrible birth/delivery. 17 hours of labor and THREEEE hours of pushing. They turned off the epidural, said I was too numb. So then I got her out , episiotomy and all ...(pooped on the dang table and hubby said HONEY!!? but the nurse took up for me thankyouverymuch!) and I hemorrhaged. Not just a little -- a LOT. So I had a shot in each leg of a lovely little drug (that prob. saved my life) called Hemabate or something like that. They called for blood, didn't have to use it. I was too weak to even HOLD my baby girl. Well they got me all stitched up and I felt like I was gonna have the runs. The problem? You can't "run" anywhere right after birth. So my "cleaner" nurse got to give me the bedpan repeatedly as I ordered everybody else out of my room. She said it was a side effect of the shots !! I cried. I thanked her. I offered to pay her something extra ! She had to stay there with me for an hour and massage my uterus and check my bleeding. The next day was horrible with everybody checking my bleeding and giving me iron shots, etc. Oh and never forget the dr that wanted to show his intern some of the "worst stretch marks he'd ever seen". Yeah. Fine. Thanks. Daughter was, however,...the most perfect thing I had ever seen!

Next child...7 hours of labor, dilated to 7cm. Baby already had an arrythmia and then started having bad decels. So off for an emergency c-section I went. I was SCARED ! I remember them looking at my huge belly and saying "yeah she's gonna be a taper". Then they got duct tape ?!?! or some sort of industrial medical tape and made a big X under my belly and up towards my boobs to hold it up. LOL. I was throwing up from the extra epidural medicine while I was taped and strapped to the table. Then I cried and kept apologizing. My son was perfect and believe it or not the recovery was GREAT ! I loved how they vacuumed everything out of my insides. Less bleeding and grossness. I barely had to wear a pad. The soreness was BAD but other than that I recovered well.

Ahhh they are worth it. Both experiences were very empowering. (Altho embarassing !!! L&D nurses deserve medals of honor!). However...I don't want another baby !....Um....EVER !

I always wondered that myself. The second you tell someone you're pregnant .. out comes, OMG I had to push for 0487589435 hours and the baby tore me from here to kingdom come. I always try to tell people my birth story, because it was not bad at all. Yeah, it had the normal sucky parts, but it was all-in-all not as bad as everyone made it out to be. I was pretty much over all the horror stories by the time I went into labor, and I think that's why it wasn't so hard for me. :)

I had 2 c-sections with my babies and later a hysterectomy in my 30s they dont tell you about the scar tissue afterwards and the heavy periods. The best advise I had was its your body you know how it works be insistant and I freaking was with my daughters birth it was a fucking nightmare the midwife inserted the fetal heart beat monitor 3times and then read the instructions OMG needless to say 3weeks and 1day later I left the hospital with my daughter due to merconuim asperation. I knew I was going to have a c-section with both my children as my hips are not wide enough to push thru and no I dont feel cheated. I tell people dont worry about the birth they have to come out someway worry about the first 6weeks when you get home sleep depriavation spew poo no shower when you want it but in the long run it was worth all the drama I have 2 awsome loving human beings that i wouldnt trade for the world my heart bursts at the seams loving them xxxx

What about being fisted every hour!! No one prepared me for that. I cried like a baby the last time and got the epidural, not because of labor pains! It hurts! Oh and the magical balloon i had placed in me... not so fun. All to have a c-secion in the end, what a waste of 30 hours. I should have listen to the Dr. and had it in the first place. I wouldnt tade any of it, to be clear, My son is pretty awsome.

With my second child, they gave me a saline drip to keep me hydrated. I didn't have it with my first, so I was completely unprepared, when after I pushed everything out, the nurse started palpating my belly to help the placenta out, and I peed everywhere! I remember apologizing profusely, and she just laughed and said it was ok. And then the baby peed all over everyone too, I choose to believe he was trying to make me feel better.
