That is terrible!! You do what you need to do for your child and forget what anyone else thinks. Shame on those other moms. They are the ones who will have problems later on with their kids, u will see!!

Planning a 3 yr old’s party now (ugh, don’t get me started, I am not normally a “party” mom, but since we are in a military installation, far from family…the “birthday” would be the birthday girl, big sister, and mom…normally we’d have at least my grandparents & my sister for a get together). This is much more hectic than having five 5 yr olds at the park eating pizza & cupcakes! I have to have food for parents, activities…all that jazz. And of course, since mom or dad are hanging out…so are the siblings. It’s a good thing I was kind of looking for an excuse to have a party, haha.

My daughter was born on leap day, so I fooled myself into thinking I could get away with one party every four years. Yeah, right. More like one party on February 28th, one on March 1st, and I’m sure it’s going to be a Paris Hilton style fete every four years. I’m screwed.

I keep telling my 6 year old to make friends. She thinks it’s because I want her to be social. And that’s what I tell people. But really, it’s for the birthday parties. I get a couple of hours of mommy time (usually at Starbucks with latte, nook and iPod in hand). SO takes care of toddler because mommy HAS to take the girl to YET another birthday party, *sigh*.
