We’ve been waiting all summer for today.
But now that it’s here,
I just want her home.
And she couldn’t disagree more.
{Update 4:00 PM: School was “SO much FUN! I Loved it,” she reported. She cannot wait to go back– I don’t think I EVER felt that way about school. It’s adorable!}

So hard to let them go. School is only the first of many letting go’s you will have to do. I think it is the hardest. She is beautiful.

My daughter absolutely wailed the first day that she went to kindergarden. I’m so glad that my ex was the one to bring her; I couldn’t have handled it. For weeks afterward, I had other mothers who had been there come up to me and tell me that they cried for HER, never mind their own kids.
Of course she came home that day with smiles, saying that she had a great time and had made new friends. She has loved school ever since.

A big pat on the back for making it through the first day of kindergarten. That’s a tough one. I love that your daughter had a great time too. I don’t know when kids start to dislike school, but I don’t look forward to that day. Enjoy the moment because there is only one first day of kindergarten

He was a wreck. She blew him a kiss from the bus and he melted. He is a big pussy though, especially with her.
It gives me hope that even if she is running off for school, she still doesn’t mind having you take her pic on the bus!

That first day is filled with so many mixed emotions. It’s great that the kiddies are growing up, and it’s not so great that they are growing up. Mine are in the 11th and 8th grade this year, and I feel the exact same way.

I for sure never wanted to go back. My son starts preschool next week. I can’t believe it! I’ll miss the little booger, but part of me is excited… about one less kid to take care of in the morning :P
