Meet Lucky

So, this is Lucky.

Lucky my daughter is completely in love with him.

Lucky he has an irresistible face.

Lucky my middle is totally charmed by him.

And Lucky that I refuse to be the bad guy.

Lucky, Lucky dog.

And, damn, damn husband.

Our Hershey was one of those ‘if mom says ok, you can keep her’ dogs. I wasn’t expected to say ‘yes.’ She’s three and about 75 pounds.

Lucky is adorable.

My one tip: Make the children help with training, walking and care-giving NOW or you’ll be “Lucky” enough to do all of that yourself for the next ten years or so.

Love the name for the little cutie. And love how husbands seem to bring those cuties home to our children and then say “It’s up to Mom if we keep it” It must be a man thing because both of our pets came into our home that way.

I went through this process too…only it was a kitten (and I’m NOT a cat person). The kids were so excited when Daddy brought it home.

I bit my tongue and tried to love the thing, but after about 6 months, I couldn’t take it. I gave it a fair shot. The kids came out of it unharmed and now we all know FOR SURE, Mom’s not a cat person!

Now a puppy…love them! BUT, it’s like another kid! Good “Luck”

I think Lucky is the perfect name. P.S. He’s also lucky he got away from whatever hairdresser got ahold of him. I mean that hairdresser gave him about a zillion different tones on one poor little head, and if he’d stayed in his/her clutches maybe would have ended up with purple and green and pink spikes too.
Just kiddin.
Lucky you don’t know how lucky you are to have this new family, or do you?
Bet, he does, because he looks so happy.

I’m glad you’re enjoying the dog, but I have to disagree on the cute factor…

dogs with hair that get wet in the dog dish, and then hang there and get nasty….

no. thank. you. That dog wouldn’t last 5 minutes in my house. And I almost barfed when I saw that nasty-hairy-mouth near your daughter’s sweet smile. OMG get the mouthwash.

Lucky he’s yours and not mine. And, I’m talking about the husband here, not the dog! Have to admit though, for a hairy, smelly, money sucking, dirty-floor-making, beast that has to be trained, and fed, and walked, and boarded when you want to travel, he’s pretty cute:)

Reply

62 Heidi August 16, 2010 at 8:38 pm

Aww, he’s so cute. How could you resist? We have an 80 lb. 8 year old lab – Allie – that still acts like a puppy. Some days suck – she’s hairy and Molly (the kid) like to sit in the water bowl, but right now, Allie is laying on my feet, making eyes at me, and making me feel bad for yelling at her earlier. At least your kids are all potty trained; that way, you just have to worry about the dog! ;)
