Is this normal?

So I have had the Mirena now for about 2 1/2 years with no problems. Since I got it, I have had irregular spotting (I know, that happens with it). Sometimes once a month for a few days, sometimes a few months later. Very irregular and very light. Well about 2 weeks ago, I started spotting again (nothing out of the ordinary) but it has gone on since then with occasional blood clots too. Its still very light (don't even need a tampon or anything) but it has become worrisome for me b/c it has now lasted 2 weeks and there is occasional blood clots. My question is this, has anyone else had this happen? I wouldn't say that it is "normal" since it hasn't happened this long to me yet (I have had the blood clots before) but is it normal in the sense that it has happened to someone else?

I haven't had this happen, I also have Mirena going on 2 years now. It sounds normal to me. If you're worried though, a trip to the dr. to ease your mind wouldn't hurt.

It happened to me. I have a Mirena. I bled for a month. There were a lot of clots. My dr had no idea why...

@Jessiesmom - but the Dr. said nothing was wrong right?

@unforgiven - I commented with this a minute ago but apparently it didn't go through... I haven't gotten to to the point yet of feeling like I need to call the doctor b/c there is no pain and cramping. I might stick it out a little bit more and see what happens. If yall don't hear from me... make sure the papers say in my obituary, "Death by Mirena".. jkjkjk!

I had the mirena for a year before I had it removed. I had that problem a lot. Part of the reason I got rid of it. I felt like a bled more with it than without.
