I'm the family historian, so I know this one to a 't'. I'm one big ole european mutt, mostly from the british isles. DH is norwegian, so DS is even more of a mutt. But if you ask me to choose, I usually say Irish.

I'm also a mutt. British and Scottish on my moms side, polish/Russian/French/probably some other eastern euro countries thrown in there on my dads side.

Era: actually narrowed the gene pool with my hubs, he's British, Scottish and German.

@Schweddyballs, makes me think if that line from one of the Godfather movies: "Listen to me, my Kraut Mick friend..."

I'm half Acadian through my Mom and Scottish and Irish through my Dad (he was born in Scotland).  So I'm pretty easygoing but sarcastic as hell, and don't piss me off.

Half Irish / half Native American (Eastern band Cherokee) I'm an odd mix of the two. I have the classic Cherokee bone structure with Irish coloring. Stereotypical even. Red hair, green eyes, pale skin.

Um let me think. Well we were originaly we lived somwhere in Europe, I think Holland maybe, we were considered Dutch. Also somewhere else in the area. We were doing good at one point , had peasents even! Then we um couldn't pay all of our bills so we were "asked" to leave the country. We got to go on a cruise to America!!!   What fun ! Then we got to work for free, well until our bills were paid off. now after that we had some diffrent additions to the family. Native American for one, and more recently Italian ! ( my grandmothers sisters daughter married the Italian, lol.)

I'm all Polish, my great great grandparents came over on the boat, I'm the first to marry a non polack. My kids are polish, Scottish (on DF side) and he's something else too, but I haven't gotten that far. But he really only considers himself Scottish.

Choctaw on one side, Chickasaw on the other, with one great-great-great (I think) grandparent on each side being Irish on one side, and Creole on the other...which opens a whole other can of mutt, from what I can determine LOL encompassing a mix of French, Choctaw, African American, and possibly more Irish....so we're just a big ole pile of Heinz 57!

My aunts and uncles on Momma's side, you can just tell from their hair and bone structure, it's very obviously Native American, but Granny marked them babies with white-as-a-ghost skin and freckles LOL
Daddy's side...you can't look at them and tell anything, except that they're obviously mixed with something not quite white LOL Black silky hair, dark skin, and either green or brown eyes--every one of them!

And I...I get the best of all of it, I think. Dark hair, green eyes, dark skin, AND FRECKLES ! Thanks, Granny!

I am French on moms side. We can trace from settlements in Louisiana to nova scotia (the acadiens) to France. I'm not sure on dads side. Did recently find out that on his side I am a descendent of a black plantation slave that my family owned. Crazy huh!

Another mutt here...I look mostly Irish, splash of German...DH swears my cheekbones are from the sliver of Native American in me. The rest of the make up is a dash of Scottish, Dutch, the aforementioned Native American (Leni Lenape), and British.

100% Jersey Girl though! Well, Jersey Girl from the beach area...not that craziness on TV. I'm a whole other kind of crazy.

My mom really just thinks of herself as Canadian, I think her parents were German. My dads comes directly from Greece.  So manly I consider myself Greek/Canadian. Sadly I cannot speak more than a few words.

@purpleflowers my uncle who did a detailed study said we were related to Pocahontas. But I'm not to sure on that lol. Not that much came down the line , high cheekbones is the only thing I can think of. Lol. He also said we were related to Dr Mudd , he didn't have too much luck after he fixed this guys leg. He was a Dr , he set a broken leg. How was he supposed to know it was John Wilks Booth's leg. DHs side gets even better ( not) he is related to John Wilks Booth. Ahhhhhh!!!!! Also Bear Bryant the football coach.

German, French, Swedish..all mutt.  I have to ask the question "What is your ethnicity" at my job when I take calls, it's amazing what answers I get (ranging from the almost offended "AMERICAN!" to the 20 long list of mutt-ness).

When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Irish on my mother's side, with a smidgeon of MIc Mac(Mairitime First Nation tribe) somewhere in the woodpile.  Acadian on my dad's side - which has been traced back to France by a family geneolgy nut.

So I am French - don't hold my hands still or I can't talk - and Irish - don't piss me off.

I'm eastern European Jew... Hungarian, Polish, Lithuanian, and Russian. DH is pretty German, Lithuanian, and some other stuff but his family didn't really keep track. Id love to be on that show "who do you think you are?" So I could learn more. There's a big company in s another country that had the same name as my family's was before it was americanized.

I'm British but my mother is polish/British as she was the only child born in England, the rest of her siblings lived here from a young age, my grandparents had the option to come and live here from Poland after the war.
My surname is Swedish, my dad reckons some Vikings stopped off on a boat on canvey island in Essex and never bothered to go back, I.e he has no effing idea where my crazy surname is from!

@Malmquk England and Ireland were under conquest from the Vikings for some 200 years, after the Battle Hastings most of them left, but left their Dna in the population. Same with Ireland.

I'm Faroese(Viking settlers from Denmark)/Irish, and one of my uncles into the whole family roots thing. I'm worried our kids will have drinking and management issues because Dw is Irish/Israeli, So our Irish Viking Jewish mutts are in for it.

My Mom's side is German, Czech, French, and a little Polish.

My Dad's side is mostly Irish and Italian, but there was a one night stand that created a sort of mystery. Great-Gramma was so ashamed that she only ever told Mom-Mom who her father was. She was equally ashamed. The name isn't on the birth certificate - she was given Great-Gramma's maiden name at birth and no father was named. She was adopted by her step-father and raised for most of her life under his name. Her half-sister and Grandpa both say that she told them, but it wasn't important enough to remember and they give slightly different answers every time. We're almost certain, based on what they've said and the area where Great-Gramma lived at the time, that he was Russian, Latvian, Lithuanian, or Romanian. Maybe Bulgarian. Really narrows it down, huh?

I know that it doesn't really matter, it just drives me crazy not knowing.
