okay guys, i'm only 25 and I've decided I'm not too old or too busy (even with my 3 kids and a newborn) to better myself. I've really been thinking about this for a long time. I'm going for my Associate's Degree in Elementary Education. It's what I've always wanted to do and thanks to my DH I'm going to do it. I hate having to ask him for money to buy stuff that we need for us and for the kids when he makes me feel like a bum. He couldn't do what I do all day. He would die if I left him home alone with the kids all day, hell, even just for a few hours. lol But I really need some support bc I don't think he's going to like this. He likes to be the one making all the money, but he spends it like we don't have responsibilities. So, I'm doing this for me and for the kids. :)

NO! You're not too old. I was 29 when I got my B.A. and I'm just getting ready to start my second Master's, at almost 50.
My mom taught me you need a back up plan, and you need to have your own money. My g'parents divorced after 30+ years of marriage and my g'ma was completely unable to support herself, can you imagine if she had young children?
Getting more education is not only good for you, but for your kids. One of the things I'm most proud of my parents for was both getting their degrees (they married right out of highschool) while providing for and raising a family. Granted it was a little easier for Mom, since Dad bore the brunt of the financial responsibility. My mom even went on to get her Master's.
YOU GO GIRL! Sorry, I'm not fond of that expression, but it does seem to fit here!

I am in school again at 29. My DH had an injury and can't work anymore, so here I am... we are having to suffer through many lean years since I was not prepared. Ask DH what you would do if anything ever happened to him? Maybe let him know that you aren't planning on going right back to work after school, but want to have the degree just in case? Even if that is not true, it puts off the working argument for a few years...

YOU CAN DO IT (said in the weird water boy voice), I had an 83 year young women take an accounting class with me one semester, if she can do it, so can you. Her answer was, I never had the time or the money to do it when I was younger, I have the time to do it now, and that's what student loans are for. I think she was a worse influence on us than we were on her, she always sat in the back of the class, not paying attention, doodling and talking away with us, but yet she still seemed to pass every test with flying colors.I went to school, took me 8 years, but I finally got my Business Administration in Business Administration, and I am still a SAHM, and DF is fine with it, it just leaves room for us for a back up plan for what ever might happen. Plus now it's DF turn to go to school to get a nice fat pay raise.Shameless Plugging:

I'm back in school after being out for 5 years. Honestly I find it easier as I'm not distracted by the social aspect this time, but I do occasionally find it difficult to balance my kid and school, especially at essay and exam time (which is absolutely because I'm a procrastinator).
