I would live on an island in the south sea's!! Just as long as I can have my books, a cute cottage on the beach, a horse, and a satelite so I can get onto SM!!! I would love all the sunshine and blue sky and warm water!! Or on a horse ranch in Wyoming or Montanna with a really hot, sexy cowboy!! Ride horses all day and work the land!! that would be my idea of Heaven!!

@scholarmom4 I'll join you on the beach. Tahiti maybe? The wine is cheaper than the soda. :)

Wishful dreaming, I would love to go somewhere that has ancient ruins. Im drawn to them. Greece, Italy, Scotland.

More realistically (meaning it could happen one day. Somewhere in the Rocky Mountains.

@scholarmom4 I live on the east coast too. We didn't get much snow here
this year. But normally we have 8 months of cold and 4 months of roast
your balls off hot. I'll take tropical any day. Bring on the palm trees,
beach, and brightly colors homes. :)

Ireland, I'd like Gerard Butler there waiting for me also! Or London but I'd need a ton of money to live there and I want a vacation house someplace warm on the beach where the water is blue and clear..

I either want a log cabin in the woods of VT with no neighbors for miles, fully furnished in antiques, but modernized with a tankless water heater, a really cool fridge and stove/oven, solar panels, rain barrels, kinda a self sustaining little ecosystem retreat! oh and a hot tub and a fireplace. Or somewhere tropical on a beach, treehouse style!

@scholarmom4 where you at lady? I live in the sticks of Maine too!! Mariaville, (grew up in Brooklin, DH is from Jonesport) I can't see anything but trees! I love it. You couldn't move me from here with a tow truck. No log cabin though :( DH used to be a vinyl siding dude, so guess what our house has?? I'm gonna burn this bitch down and build my log cabin soon lol!

So to answer the question posted, HERE, I want to live here.

And yes, the Brooklin I grew up in is spelled like this ^^^ I'm not a New Yorker :)

@KittyKat we'd have to share GB. Lol!

I want to live somewhere that the temp doesn't get above 75. Living 32 years in the hot steamy swamps of Louisiana has made me ready for a change. Should be 90 here today.

Paris.  I was born there, I love that it's a walking city, and fairly central to the rest of Europe.  I love the fact that many Parisians are interested in other people (unlike in some cities where many city goers just want to tune out) and that they do really seem to take liberty to heart.  Even if the person is being a jerk.  They respect that (at least some do).

In a beautiful old (but completely modernized) Victorian like this:

Somewhere along my beloved Atlantic Ocean:

And if this place had an adorable little down town....with shops, restaurants, and sidewalks and homes with front porches that begged to be enjoyed on a cool summer's night....well that would be where would really love to live.

    Maybe someday. :-)

Weird... I was actually thinking about this today! I decided I'd like to live in Jamaica. The people seem so HAPPY and "live and let live". Maybe it's the weed, but whatever it is, I hope it's contagious. Give me a beach cottage, and happiness. Sounds like heaven!

BellaBefana...didn't know anyone else had heard of the Amalfi coast! Every time I Metin I've been there, I get blank stares.

Me, I think "London's calling," especially if I could have an estate in the country.....

Ya know what... I'd be happy moving anywhere that's not here.  In a cute, small house with a walk out backyard, trees, and a corner garden. somewhere I can walk around the block without being scared.  a safe neighborhood with a park across the street.  good schools and an Ikea.

I look online all the time at real estate.  fantasizing.  germany? ireland? new zealand?  maybe New Mexico, Texas or Delaware?  I have no idea where I'd be happiest, I just know I want to live somewhere safe and welcoming.

I wish I could talk to DH about it....but he's tired of me telling him how unhappy I am here.

but then again...we are a hell of a lot better off than most people!!

I keep telling DH I want to go to Virginia where the winters won't be as bad as MA but it's not too much hotter.

But honestly, I'd love to live on Cape Cod.. like in Dennis... I LOVE the 'cape cottage' look with the weathered shingles, and in the summer I could severely enjoy the outdoor showers. We used to go to the same cottage every year and it had an outdoor shower.

    @dreamer - come on down!!!! ;-)

When I was about 10 yrs old I told my parents (while camping at Tunnel Mtn, in Banff) that "someday I'm gonna live here". 5 yrs ago when the opportunity arose, I took it, with my DF at the time, we were so excited. When I told my dad his words were "holy fukin shit, you're really doing it huh?" LoL

I love Banff. I will be here as long as my life allows.

Hmmm...this is tough, since I've hardly ever been out of pa, but I dream of a place surrounded by mountains and forests, maybe a stream running through the property, winding goat path for a driveway, where you would still have the four seasons but mild summers because I can't stand to sweat. Acres and acres of land, tons of snow in the winter, trees so high ypu can barely see the tops....thinking montana, or colorado. Maybe even alaska?

I would have loved to live in new orleans in my younger days, now I think its too much heat. Maybe I'll have a winter home there...I can dream, right?
