OC please see a doctor right away. Having bloody excrement could be multiple things along with that knot in your side, all of the things I can think of need immediate medical help.

I called my boss to get a list of things that could cause this, Hes a Battalion Surgeon, Phd in internal Medicine.

None Life Threatening but still needs to be checked out:
Hernia, Hemorrhoids, forms of Coloitis, Peptic Ulcers, and Anal Fissures. These can get infected if not treated and can become life threatning.

    Life Threatening:
Various forms of GI tract cancers

Please see a doctor and get checked out.

Heehee, @FoulMouthedSailor, did you tell your boss someone on scary mommy may be injured and need help?

Im an RN and that post alarmed me...shitting blood and mucus is not immediately life threatening but its certainly not ok. This might sound random...but Lupus came to mind immediately, affecting the intestine. Of course im not there to assess, its just based on something i have seen in the past.
    Good luck OC.

@CKLW Nope, but its not out of the ordinary for me to call him up and ask questions, If I see some one who needs help I'm going to try every means possible to get them help. I work in Combat Field Medicine, I deal with gun shot wounds and mass trauma, Internal medicine his specialty and he doesn't mind taking a call if it helps some one.

@FoulMouthedSailor, it's all good. It just made me chuckle a little bit, not the injury part, the part where you call for a scary mommy. ;)

Please listen to them, OC. You now have an internal medicine specialist, an rn & an emergency medicine specialist urging you to seek help.

If you don't have insurance, go to an er.
Hugs, OC. Let's get help, treat this & move on. Things don't get better when we wait...
