Alright so my little rascal is 2 years old. He will randomly take off his diaper and go sit on his potty and I will sit there forever (it seems) and he does not pee or poop. But then as soon as he says he is "done", he asks for a wipey to clean his butt haha and then i put his diaper up and 5-10 minutes later he has a wet diaper. It's been going on for 2 months now and i don't know if he's embarassed or he just doesn't know. Anyone have any advice?

I have tried putting on underwear so that he doesn't feel comfortable wetting himself but he just goes in the underwear! :P

Two is still pretty young. Give it some more time and then start asking him every half hour or so. He'll eventually get the hang of it. I will say that I hate pull-ups for potty training. They were totally counter-productive when I was potty training my oldest DD. The middle one went from diapers to undies. It took more than a few accidents before she got the hang of it, but she did it. Is his dad around?? Maybe it would help if he saw how a male uses the potty. I always let my DDs come with me while they were potty training...although since they still bust in on me when I'm in the bathroom, in hindsight that might not have been the best idea LOL

I always heard to put cheerios in the potty and tell him to pee on them. I also have never potty trained so I may not know what the hell I'm talking about lol. Also I was told but the girl that used cheerios that every time she went to the restroom she would put her dd on the potty next to her.

Elmo's Potty Time was a gift from sweet baby Jesus.  I'd play it 2 times a day for two weeks and then everyone in my family would talk about going poo or pee in the potty like it was the most awesome thing that ever happened and how having dry undies was so comfy.  My daughter got so excited about it.  Then we took her to the store to pick out some "big girl undies" she could wear when she got used to going in the potty.    After she got used to the idea, she caught on pretty quick.

Lol i like the cheerio's idea, it sounds fun but im pretty sure my son would then want to put in all sorts of food inside the potty lol. And yes, his dad is around and he watches how we go pee pee, he prefers sitting down though haha. I'm just going to keep his diapers for now and keep encouraging him to go sit on the potty every once in a while, thanks gals :)
