Hair Dye

    OK so it's true, I'm a hair dye virgin.
    I picked a color and am ready to go. I've helped other people dye their hair but never had mine dyed.
    My question is this, I washed my hair yesterday morning. The box says not to shampoo first, but my scalp and hair are a bit oily. Will my hair oils cause it not to work well? Should I wash tonight and then dye it tomorrow before it gets oily and after it's dried? Can I just do it tonight?

    I would wait until tomorrow and do the color on "dirty" hair...it gets washed when you lather up the color and rinse it out.

    Don't wash your hair before coloring the oils help the color stick to your hair

    Oily hair won't stop the dye. You can do it tonight... 

    I did hair for 15yrs (licensed) still do it for friends and fam.
