I'm hoping someone has been through this or has an idea for me.... I can't take the pain/burning/irritation in my poor little hoo haa anymore.

I'm 25 weeks pregnant. Since May 6 when I was 19 weeks I've had pain. I've had cervical pain, some spotting and some discharge.

ER diagnosed as cervicitis and yeast infection. Treat with 7 day treatments of canestan. Twice. No fix.

Went to the dr. he suggested Monistat and then to come back. The day after that I couldn't take it anymore. It burned so bad. I couldn't sit. I couldn't walk. My cervix hurt. I had discharge I haven't had before and it SUCKED MONKEY BALLS. I had to sleep with a thing to keep your food cold in your lunch bag frozen between my legs because it burned so bad.

Finally the dr. took a sample and said "Well, that looks like yeast. Stay with the monistat and I will call you when I have the results back." That was May 25.

June 2 I go in to see him because its STILL NOT GONE and the dr says, "Well, the swab didn't come back with yeast. But it did come back with some pus"

    WTF?

So I asked what that could be from and he said "that's indicitive of an infection. So I will prescribe a vaginal cream that you can you for 7 days and that should clear it right up!"

Low and behold, holy mother of god, the first night I used it, it was AMAZING. I didn't hurt. Well, It did a bit, on the ouside (TMI between my clit and what I assume would be urethra area). It went well for 6 days.

    Finished the treatment. Felt ok.

3 days after that, symptoms of burning/irritation on the outside is back.

I've looked. It's red. and sore.

Most times it doesn't even hurt until after I pee and I have to wipe (and now I pat) and even THAT hurts.

So now I'm BACK on the 7 day treatment of the vaginal antibiotics and a 2.5% hydrocortisone cream for the outside.

    I can't do this anymore.

It burns. Its sore and its ruining me enjoying my last pregnancy.

The thought of going through this for another 15 weeks scares the crap out of me and I hate it.

Help!?  Between feeling like my cervix is on fire/sore/being burned and then my outer area hurting bad I don' tknow what to do.

make sure you're wearing 100% cotton underwear, that will help, and wash the panties in hot water to make sure you're killing the bacteria and if there is any, yeast in them.  And change them often, I'd say no less than 2x a day.  I'm actually surprised he hasn't prescribed oral antibiotics, but if it happens again, I'd ask him about a course of them.

Also, drink lots of cranberry juice, it will help flush your system and change the pH so the bacteria doesn't want to grow there.

Also i had this issue and witch hazel pads that had been stored in the fridge helped so much.. I had vaginal hemroids... Thoses were killer becaue of the constant yeast issues.. Also have your doctor check for diabetes..

Try taking oral probiotic supplements, too. They keep the flora "down there" healthy and balanced. They're especially important if you end up taking oral antibiotics.

If you still think it might be yeast related, watch your sugar intake.  I suffer from yeast issues and when I cut back on sugar it gets a LOT better.
