Low cholesterol recipes

My husband is only 36 and was recently diagnosed with high cholesterol. Ugh! I really don't usually cook healthy at all and I know I need to change our diet for all of us. I have two SDs 12 and 13 and my two DDs 1 and 3. Everyone will eat a wide variety of foods, except the 3 year old. She is pretty picky. Anyway, any idea for low cholesterol meals for families? I usually like to cook from scratch, but not always.

So the basics are don't eat processed foods, which you already do not, limit red meat, and then opt for healthier versions. So if ya'll eat burgers, do turkey (yeck) or do a lower fat prepackaged hamburger. go for red meat once or twice per week. You want to eat whole grain, so maybe make yr own bread. Maybe? Try wheat pasta, but start out with half wheat and half regular.
Eat steel cut oatmeal in the morning, so versatile. Everyone can add their own ingredients, or if you are not running a soup kitchen, you throw some nuts, flax seed, and berries in there.
Just go non processesed, high in fruits and veggies, And put as much fiber as possible into everything.
Look for the DrOz book You, The Manual. It is very helpful on how to raise your HDL and lower your LDL.Searching for my lost shaker of salt.
