From day one, the biggest thing that drove me nuts about being a mom was the kids/s being so high maintenance that I felt like I couldn't get anything accomplished that didn't pertain directly to them. I always think "I'm home all day, every day. How can I still not have time to get this stuff done?!". At a point, it was so bad I caught myself kind of resenting them for being so demanding, even though it's kind of a given with little kids (though I did my best to make sure I was the only one who knew that).
First dd is now 4 & second is 1, & this last week I noticed I was actually able to get a few things done that I normally couldn't even think about doing! Woohoo! It still required a bit of juggling, but I considered it a major victory to even have the chance to attempt things like cleaning out closets, decluttering downstairs, & rearranging a few things. The last time I was able to do stuff like that was when dd4 was young enough to still nap & dd1 didn't exist yet! I know taking care of the kids (solo 90% of the time) should feel like a huge accomplishment in itself, but it was driving me nuts having every day end with the house looking like I didn't do a damn thing all day! Victory is mine!!!! Lol -
i hear ya! My DH has even noticed since i started watching the 12month old (started when she was 3 months) and my nephew 5months. plus my ds3 and dd4 that nothing is getting done. just the normal everyday things around here are hard for me (as i sit on the computer while they eat lunch i could be vacuuming.)

One step closer to the day when I can go about my business while they go about theirs. I'll be able to get more than the bare minimum done & still have time to hang out with my little wardens when I'm done! :D
