He doesnt have a fever just severly stuffed up nose and a cough. :( I dont know what to do for him besides holding him and giving him fluids. He wakes up every 20-30 minutes and just whimpers. Is there anything I can do to help him out?

Saline drops in his nose to loosen the snot, then suck it all out with a bulb syringe. (better known as the "booger monster" in my house, lol). It really can help them breathe better. Try Vicks baby rub on his chest and throat. It's got eucalyptus and lavender in it, so it's soothing. Also a humidifier can work wonders, the cool mist ones are best, but the steam ones work too.

Ahhh... :(  poor boo.  We have the snot sucker, not the bulb, but the one that you can suck on at one end and it sucks all the snot out.  It worked better for us than the bulb.  As well, I know that this is an old wives tale, but Baby Vicks on the bottom of his feet (hey - it can't hurt to try); I know that's it's proven not to have any impact, but it almost always helps DS2 when he's got a cold.

I would second what @pdxmama said about the humidifier.  It really does help.  If you aren't able to get one, then sit in a closed bathroom with the hottest water running and sit in the steam.

saline drops, cool mist humidifier (if you live in a foggy place, drive around with the windows open), and ask your pediatrician if you can give him a little Benedryl at night to help him sleep.  When dd got her first cold/stuffy nose the doc also suggested putting her to sleep in her car seat to keep her more upright for drainage.

I like the baby Vicks, I'll put a little under her nose and on her chest when she get stuffy. Other than that, there isn't much to do but watch him for ear infections and make sure he gets plenty of fluids, breast milk and/or pedialyte.

He may lose his appetite, so try not to worry to much as long as he's hydrated.  Try suctioning the snot just before a feeding to to keep him more comfy while eating.

Using Vicks is ok in baby's that young but they say to not put in directly in their skin unless it's the bottom of the feet! They can overdose on menthalatum and can get really sick. My doctor says to put them in a stained onsie and put it on the Chest of the onsie, it still absorbs into their skin as it is obviously touching them but it's a lot less and still works! The bottom of the feet is ok because they don't absorb anything through them.

Vick Vapo Rub is the bomb!!  And so is a humidifier!!

But I'm from the days when it was ok to give children's cold medicine to babies - so I would give a little at night to help her sleep.  Didn't usually give much during the day, but everyone did much better if baby could get some sleep.

DS got cold all the time when he was little. I would put him in his bouncy seat in the bathroom and took a super hot shower (why waste the water, right?) Always seemed to help. (glass shower, so I could still see him).

They're not supposed to sleep on their bellies, but my husband and I both let him lie on our chest while reclined to help him fall asleep and then transferred him to his back in the crib. It helped a lot- so much that he decided he preferred sleeping on his belly and would roll over to be on his belly instead of his back- so just a warning on that.
