I'm so happy to have it back!!!! It's been a long long long three weeks without it. I have no clue where we would be without the guys from the shop. It totaled 5,556 total in work done. WITH them giving us their price on the short block and lots of other things. They both the owners said to both me and DH to get ourselves on our feet then worry about paying them more then once
We did sign an agreement but they pretty much said they won't hold us to it as long a we pay what we can when we can. They took some parts off and replaced them parts that were fine but it would run better with diff parts. Dh told them to keep them and sell em as extra not what we owe. They refused and told us to put em on Craig's list for extra money for us and not to worry about it.
She runs great and only 26 miles on it right now!!! I'm not really "allowed" to drive it for the first 500 miles. I mean I can drive it but no boost or down shifting I know I'll forget so other then driving too and from work DH will be doing the initial break in of the motor after 500 I can drive it how I normally do.
I'm so happy to have her back. And I'm thanking god for the guys at Flat Four, they really really did us a huge favor with all the work and how fast they did it they also replaced several parts that were missing bolts ect without charging us.

@curious put it in neutral and break till its low enough for you to put it in the next lowest gear without going over 3000 rpm's. By no downshifting they mean no popping it in a lower gear and having the RPM's go way up till the drag slows you down. Pretty much they don't want us going over 3000 rpm's for the first 500 miles so not a lot of strain is put on the motor. Also our first oil change will be at 1500 miles rather then the standard 3000 so they can chek to make sure everything is running properly.
Our mechanic said he is impressed I got 40k out of it before it blew. He said he has never in all his years seen a motor blow like this. What probably happened is the kid who owned it before me blew the motor and junkyard peiced it together then sold it or traded it. Not illegal but really shady of him. We need a new clutch sometime in the next year and will probably have them do it at tax time. -
Glad you got your car back. It sucks not having a car. And what a great story about the shop you took it too. It's so nice to know that there are nice, caring people out there still.
