The Scary Mommy Community was founded upon the belief that all mothers deserve a safe haven, and a supportive community where they can be honest without fear of judgement. They can take comfort knowing they have the love and support of a tight knit community behind them, that they are not alone, and that others can not only empathize but relate to the trials and difficulties that they face everyday.

Scary Mommy of the Month was introduced to help alleviate the need and hardships of a very special Scary Mommy community member. It was a daunting task, to say the least! Each and every nominee was a worthy, valued, and loved member of this community. Amongst the outpouring of nominations from the community, one member stood out from the rest- a member whom we truly felt would benefit the most from the help we had to offer. From the sheer volume and wide variety of the nominations, to the dire need being experienced, we were able to collectively agree on our Scary Mommy of the Month recipient.

@ShadyLane has been a part of this community since the MB's inception. She has been consistently supportive of the other members, and even though she was facing daunting and difficult situations in her personal life, she has never failed to make an effort to reach out to others and offer her support. She has been an inspiration to the members of the community who's lives she's touched, as evidenced by the number of nominations received on her behalf.

@ShadyLane, the Scary Mommy Community would like you to know that second chances are possible, and that we believe in you, that we are PROUD of you, and we want to support you in finding your way in this new life.
