I know there's not a lot of people That care for me here, but I have a friend whose best childhood friend has a very rare form of cancer. It started in her jaw and spread to her spine hip and pelvis. She is a single mother to two boys. My friend asked on her Facebook for somewhat of a food drive to feed the little boys while she goes to stanford for treatment. I need some easy freezable recipies. All the food I make is never frozen and I cook it that night. I've never precooked food or have had frozen meals ready. Any and all ideas on what I can whip up will be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Chili and lasagna are the first two things that come to mind. Any kind of casserole would probably work too, as would stews and soups. We find we can pre-make lots things and freeze them with pretty good results. You might also try searching some of the cooking websites for "make ahead meals" and find some good ideas there.
Hugs and prayers for your friend.

How old are the boys??? I used to make breaded chicken tenders....bake them...then wrap them individually in wax paper and zip into a zip lock bag so my boys could microwave as few or as many as they wanted at a time.

Depending on how old they are and what they like to eat....you can google all sorts of recipe's that can be prepared and frozen.  Depending on what works for her kids I'd pick recipe's you can microwave or throw frozen contents of ziplock bag into a crock pot.

Here's one link I just found when I googled make ahead meals.  http://www.myrecipes.com/make-ahead-recipes/

Best of luck to your friends through this.

Thank you so much. I have no idea how old the boys are. I have never met the lady with cancer. It's a friend of the friend.

You can freeze almost anything that's already cooked. Most of the things I can think of have already been covered. Spaghetti is another one. Good luck to this poor woman and her sons!
Darling, a true lady takes off her dignity with her clothes and does her whorish best! At other times you can be as modest and dignified as your persona requires.

Also, instead of throwing stuff into containers or ziploc bags, put the pre-prepared casserole dishes into those disposable aluminum trays. That way, it can go straight from the freezer to the oven.

I will say a prayer for this family. I wish her & her boys strength & comfort during this journey. My heart goes out to them.

Curries freeze really well, and I want to echo stew. Stews are awesome frozen and then dethawed. This is a really lovely thing you're doing.  >:D<

yep, lasagna freezes really well.  Also, just make red meat sauce or marinara and freeze that, then just thaw and heat and boil the pasta.

Manicotti (kind of Italian enchiladas) freezes really well too and is pretty easy to make.  Come to think of it, so do enchiladas.

And why on earth would you think no one likes you, hon?

I don't really cook much, but I know my grandmom makes a huge batch of pasta sauce every few weeks. She let's it cool a little, then separates it into 4 or 5 containers then freezes it. I think you are awesome for doing this :)

What about Browning a bunch of meat and freezing It? Then the kids can just pull it out, warm it, and make tacos.

Another idea about potatoes... You can freeze single portions of mashed potatoes. Wax paper and load the singles into a ziploc. I keep going back to wax paper and ziplocs because my boys are lazy and microwave everything. They would sooner starve than use the oven to bake a casserole.

We make taco meat ahead of time often. You can make tacos or put it with rice or over a salad. Make a few lbs and then separate into ziploc baggies. The boys can make minute rice in the microwave and cover it in cheese.

Shredded or Italian beef both freeze and reheat well, and are easy to make - just stick the roast in the crock pot with the appropriate seasonings, and let it go.

My mom has frozen homemade mac and cheese before and says it reheats well.  I've never tried it. We never have leftovers to freeze when I make it.

Meatloaf works well.  Baked spaghetti.  Sloppy joes.

    Bless you for doing this!!

Thanks ladies for all your ideas. So far I have made and froze a dozen bacon breakfast burritos. And some chocolate chip cookies. Today I'll be making some baked ziti. I'm pretty sure about 2 other people were going to send lasagne. Lol. I don't want the boys to get tired of it. And I got them a garlic bread loaf. Tomorrow I'll be making some fried chicken, and I think maybe even a meatloaf now. I actually forgot all about meatloaf! Thanks for that @unionmommy

Chicken enchiladas freeze well, and are really good when heated in the microwave!
