I posted this under home life because the "relationships" tab was greyed out.So, my wedding is this Haloween. I'm in a full on frenzy at this point. I have everything done except the decorations at this point. Mine is a full on masqurade ball. 300+ guests, five bridesmaids, four flower girls. My dress is black, we're using feathers instead of flowers, I'm having an indoor cemetery built for the ceremony itself, six ft grim reapers, a circus sideshow complete with fire breathers and glass walkers, from me down to the littlest flower girls are in formal dresses and combat boots. So, lets see that scary mommy bride style! Tell me about yours!

My wedding is set for August 23 2013. We're having it in a cute German town in Missouri (where my family is) called Hermann. I'm doing a fall color palate, no bridesmaids or groomsman. Just our parents and our son walking down the aisle. We have a guest list of 75. Doing a fall evening wedding to hopefully catch the sunset. Our clothing is rather Victorian styled and classic. I'm wearing a white umpire waisted long gown with orange and red fall leave detailing and I think, but am not sure if, the groom is wearing a red and orange tux and a top hat? We're still tossing those ideas around. :) We've both custom designed our wedding rings and are working with designers to finish those up in the next couple of weeks :DOur families are in MO and NC so we are meeting them kind of half way. But we are doing a party here Washington wearing our wedding clothing again for our friends here in Washington.

Uhm, mine is hopefully Sept 27, 2013 and I have no idea. So far our guest list is out of control at a whole 14 people. I think I am going to do it at a local little german style village that has a nice hotel/waterpark, and double it into a small 4 day family vacation as well.Shameless Plugging:

My BF and I are doing a Halloween themed baby shower this Oct at a local brewery. :D
@FinallyFree2BMe, forgive me but I am desperately curious whats the ball park cost of your wedding? I know it may be rude but my morbid curiosity is killing me! I think ours total will be in the 15k range. -
I'm getting married Oct 13th this year. Traditional Catholic Mass with 150-175 guests. Reception is at a hotel but fancy dinner. we are on the 12th floor with three sides being windows so we can see the mountains and downtown Denver. But the reception is the good time with open bar and the Italians and the Irish families merge ;)
My main flower is orange Lillies but I will have sunflowers in there as well. My colors are orange & green. My dress is ivory with lace & beading with pearls.
4 bridesmaids, 4 groomsmen, 2 flower girls, 2 ushers, 3 singers, 2 alter servers, 4 readers, 1 piano player, and a priest. My bridesmaids are wearing a long green dress that is very basic...the groomsmen are wearing suits.
I'm so excited!! -
@Pandamanda, woohoo for October! And omg @blkrosemama I've been at it for a year now, the food and open bars are the killer. I really hate to put a number to it knowing all of the SMs that are struggling right now :( Let's just say Amazon and free shipping are my friends, so was halloween clearance last year!! The sideshow people are friends I went to high school with, and let's face it, in New Orleans, you don't have to go far for a circus :D Some things were more expensive because we're a huge tourist town ex: food and some things were cheaper ex: limo because there is a ton of competition. Same went for getting married on a weekday vs. a "holiday". Ex: knocked some off the venue because it was a weekday but cost more to staff because of the fact it was Halloween and the florist that is arranging the feathers and few flowers we are using because it is the day before All Saint's Day and that is a huge deal here. But, I'm not joking about Amazon, it is a bride's best friend. I paid $80 for a prime membership, free two day shipping on prime eligible things is a lifesaver. Probably saved me several hundred in the long run. I had everyone I know call in favors. The judge is a friend of his dad, the florist a friend of my parents, the jeweler is his uncle, the DJ is someone my friend that owns a dance school uses. I scoured the internet for things like invites and stamps (LOVE zazzle.com), used web-based places like efavormart.com for napkins and matchbooks where you design your own stuff. All the feathers came from lamplightfeathers.com because they were the cheapest I found and the feathers are beautiful. I skimped on some things (napkins, invites and such) so I could splurge on others (black glass and pewter goblets for toasting that came from england). Pulled every resource I could think of. If I found something I loved, I searched until I located it for the cheapest price. Advantages of having a year to plan. All about prioritizing, I suppose, lol.
We chose the date because it is the twentieth anniversary of our first date. Plus were both gothic and odd and love halloween. ;) -
I LOVE AMAZON PRIME!! Omgosh we got that set up last year and we use it ALL THE TIME! I live in Seattle area so I totally know where you are coming from when you say a circus is never to far out of reach :) Sounds like an awesome show you have planned!
Andy and I are going small and classy but geeky. :) I'm going to work as much victorian as I can into this wedding. Really glad we also have a year to plan, I can't imagine doing it in less time.
Can't wait to see pictures and videos!! -
8 weeks on saturday we get married in our local church, quiet wedding breakfast nothing fancy for 60 and evening do for 200, cant wait :-)

@PurpleFlowers, most likely. I am still waiting for them to answer back, it's been a week, so I may send them another e-mail. It all depends on how cheep I can get LOL. From the pictures and the reviews on The Knot and The Wedding wire it sounds fantastic.Shameless Plugging:

I don't know how my wedding is going to look or anything at this point to be honest. We're going to Vegas... haven't actually booked anything yet. It's still over a year away, we figured we'd get on it this fall once we're settled in our new living arrangement. I do know it's not going to be theme-y or tacky, but The King will be officiating. I'm thinking simple & classy with a bit of Vegas glitz thrown in. I just don't want it to be over the top, or really basic for that matter, just because it's Vegas. To be 100% honest, this isn't my dream, but the man is and he wants this so bad, so I'm not insisting we do it at home. I know it will be awesome, and cheaper actually, in the long run. I will sort of miss the planning aspect though - with my 1st wedding I loved going to all the consultations and stuff. But it's all good.

@Demanda want to do mine? I want the wedding, I just don't want all the crap that comes with it.Shameless Plugging:

Lol - As long as you're still footing the bill, @bakingmommy, sure!

Mine was about as cheap as it gets! (while still classifying as a wedding) we had a courthouse wedding but still dressed up a bit. (I wore a white prom-type dress, veil, & mom made my bouquet) Then we all had dinner at a local restaurant's banquet room, & a party at our house. (pot luck & mostly byob) It was cheap for a wedding & we could throw it together in the few weeks between the day we decided to take the plunge & the date we set! :D

Today! Today is the day I get married!! I have had about 4 hours sleep. Hair and makeup people will be here in about an hour and a half.
We are having a beautiful outdoor ceremony at a country club with dinner and dancing to follow.
I can't believe this day is here!! -
Happy Wedding Day @masshysteria!!!
