    Well I finally made the list, but not the way I wanted to. The hugs were awesome y'all. All 158 of them. I will never be in that situation again, no matter what!! That was the worst week of my life. My kids have never gone hungry and so it was hard to explain why we couldn't just go buy something to cook. Luckily I have an awesome neighbor who floated me a few packs of ramen so they didn't starve.

    Oh and I totally want to pee in someone's yard. That is awesome!!!!

    excuse me----the babysitter was in your house and knows that the kids had NO FOOD TO EAT and wanted her money, and didn't even offer to give some of it back to you for food for the kids?  i would like to bitch slap your sitter, first, and then suggest to you
    PLEASE GO TO A FOOD BANK!!!!!!   google "churches with food bank closest to (your zipcode)" or your work zipcode and GO. PLEASE. they will not let you leave empty handed, and have other resources, or contacts to those resources. like CHILD CARE PROVIDERS THAT CARE IF YOUR KIDS GET SOME FOOD.    salvation army has food, utilities, gas, and childcare funds so there is money left to feed your kids. so will any church bank. i wish i knew where you were. i wish you were close to me. I WOULD TAKE YOU MYSELF!   and help you find a decent babysitter who actually gives a shit whether or not your kids have something to eat.

    @undercoverbanana I went & filed for emergency food stamps & got approved for a small amount so at least I am now able to get the bare necessities. Yeah I told her I was going to be flat broke if I paid her up front & she said she needed the $$ to have gas to get to my house... so I was in that rock & a hard place situation. I am going to the food bank first chance I get and fire my sitter as soon as I find an acceptable replacement... I'm that mom that it costs more than I make just to work.. it sucks!!

And I found out the Texas workforce commission has daycare money. Doesn't do me any good, but it might help you. I can give you that number and website to find an office close to you.

    @undercoverbanana I'm in the Austin
    area. I appreciate the info. I called the workforce & to qualify for Daycare assistance I have to have an active child support case open. I have filed for child support but do not have a court date yet so while that makes my case "open" it is not "active" they said the reason for this is because they give you the $$ but then take any child support you receive for repayment.... so idk what to do?? I found a place called The Caring Place & they do food & clothing vouchers Tues. & Thurs. Each week so I'm going to ask my boss for those days off next week. I called some local churches & they are tapped out on utility funds for this month but have food so I'm going to visit those in the morning. If you know of any other resources let me know. I only have my phone (can't afford internet right now) and my web on my phone is limited. Thank you again!!

    Maybe this makes me an asshole for bringing it up, but am I the only one who thinks it's fucked up to fire someone for expecting to get paid for the work they did? I sympathise with not having the $, but it's not fair to expect her to take on your financial burden. Just sayin

    @katniss You're not being an asshole!! It would be wrong to do that to someone.

    However, my problem is/was
    1.)we have an agreement. I have not been late paying her or not paid her EVER, not one cent.

    2.) She knows and agreed to being paid on Mondays (when I get paid) I've even driven to her house to pay her on Mondays when she's not even watching my kids.

    3.) She asked for what I owed for the week ($130.00) PLUS a week in advance ($130.00) or she said she couldn't watch them, because she wanted to go visit her daughter 3 hrs away & wanted gas $$ (not my problem!!!)

    I make $7.75 an hr. Roughly my checks are $275 a week if I work a little overtime. My kids are with her 3 hrs a day (tues. & thurs.) and 6 hrs on Fri. So for 12 hrs I pay her at least 1/2 of my paycheck EVERY week. And she knows all of this. She knows I'm a single mother that gets no child support or assistance, and she used her knowledge of the fact that she is my only option at the moment to her advantage.

    I figured there had to be something else going on with her. The previous post concerning her advanced pay made it seem like she couldn't get to work. I hope you are able to find someone safe for your kiddos who doesn't take advantage of your situation.

    I want u to know you are. It alone. I have been contemplating whoring myself out in exchange for a bill pd here or there. I don't want to but it may come down to it. Losing food stamps, additional daycare, $500 in gas to get to and from work, bill collectors calling.

    I just wish I could get past my pride and do it already. I need the money.
