Family Frustration Vent

My DD just finished a play. There were 6 performances. I am the youngest of 8!! All of us live in the area (furthest away is about a 40 min drive). So guess how many came to see her perform? 1. That's it! 1 sister and my mom are the only ones from my family to bother showing up to support my DD. She got a major role this time but none could be bothered to show up. This show was a whopping $10 a ticket. Now this might seem like not such a big deal.. people get busy and whatever.. I get it.. BUT... my 3 other sisters (I have 4) have driven for 4 hours, paid $35 for tickets, over $100 hotel stay and paid for meals out.. to see my nephew perform. It annoys the crap out of me! Not only is it a fairly short drive for ALL of them.. but most of them even went to the school she is performing at.. so they KNOW where it is.I LOVE that they are so supportive of my nephew... I am too... I have been to most (more) of his performances than any of them.. even his mother! I've worked by butt off costuming for him too!You know who DID come?? My nephew. He now works 7 days a week... but FOUND time.. MADE time.. to come and see DD perform.I'm done even asking. I'll invite my mom and the ONE sister who always shows up.. and my nephew of course. This play is just the most recent of many things like this...I am so glad we have friends who are there for us! (They even came to see the show TWICE!)B

My ILs are the same way, but expect us to be there for every big event for them. I feel bad because DS always asks where they are and I hate for him to be sad over it. I've had DS call them right before a game to ask them himself and it's worked once. Maybe your DD could call her aunts and ask them?
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift; that's why they call it the present. -
That's so rude! I would be majorly pissed off and hurt.

My parents are bad about not coming to see ds sing at church. They live with us !! My dad says it's because last time , ( read one time about 6 performances ago) he chickened out and hid. I took him to meet up with the group then went to drop off his brother at the nursery and he decided to " get lost". He said he didn't know where he should have been. I'm thinking the large group of kids his age sitting in the front rows ignite church ! Now we do attend a church that has 6000 members and it can be nerve wracking to get in front of a large crowd. They just don't like the church. They came to see dd but now they won't come to see ds. It saddens me, so I know the feeling." Wibbly wobbly timey wimey ......." The Doctor
" I'm a leafe on the wind..watch how I soar ." Wash :((
" Oh the wall had it comming.' Sherlock Holmes
