bright green poop???

    my DS 3 has had a little diarrhea the past couple days. Nothing bad but its been REALLY green. He seems to be feeling fine other than his allergies bothering him but i was wondering if anyone knew what the green poo is all about?

    Purple Grape juice will make green poop so will alot of food Coloring in like cereal or snacks.

    Yep it's eithe something purple or blue that got him. Lol my DS had oneof those pucker powder tubes one time and he had blue poop. It actually stained his skin so he had blue balls for one whole day ! =)) It washed of in the bath !

    well i feel better now. He does LOVE cereal and he has been on a crunch berry kick so maybe that is whats causing it. @ momofdbb the blue balls comment..too funny. :)

    Food coloring, grape juice, spinach, and other things....like crayons. My son used to think it was funny to feed my daughter crayons when she was a baby and freak me out when I changed her diaper.

    My kids always to this day have green poop when they drink purple Gatorade. I wouldn't worry about it :)

    Sounds like the cereal - blueberries will also do this (my son eats the frozen ones by the spoonful).  play-doh and crayons can do this too.


    Colors are usually only a problem if they are on the red spectrum or black - and pain is usually involved.  It is really weird to see green and blue poop though.


    I remember once when my son ate play-do (on the sly, so he thought) and I noticed it in his poop - I called him on it and he was amazed at my 'psychic ability'.

    my son was given gummies once by a friends mom who fell in love with him and the next day his poop was BRIGHT GREEN..... like imagine fake guacamole.. i was like WTF!! i could NOT remember what he ate and it freaked me out until i texted dh (i was out of town with my fam and had no signal) and he reminded me of the gummies.. lol who knew food coloring went right through them like that!

    DH gave too many blueberries to DS a few months ago. I didn't know, so I fixed him a bowl of blueberries as a snack on the same day. He pooped blue. And it stained his butt and his balls blue for a day. @momofdbb mine too!

    It's deff the crunch berry doing it. DH had crunch berry a few months ago and came to me freaking out that he was gonna die because his shit was bright green.

    @notsohotmomma - haha! if i had been the one that gave him that i think i would have remembered but it freaked me out because i could NOT remember and i couldnt figure out what could have caused that shocking color poop.
    sometimes i laugh at the poop because he will eat olives and there will be skins. or grapes and there will be skins, or carrots, and SOMETIMES he finds our candy stash (as you can tell i dont really give him much candy) and he doesnt know yet he's gotta take the paper off (now and laters or starbursts) and i'll find a freaking wrapper in his poop.... im just like WHAT THE HELL!? where did you find our candy?!
