I've heard those rumors too, but that's all they've been. I haven't yet seen anything to prove it.

I can't imagine those rumors about Dr. Phil being true. It just doesn't fit with me. I really enjoy watching his show. I'm recording the one you're talking about. I'll watch it tonight along with Dance Moms LOL.

Lots of rumours about him, don't think many of them are true though.
Did you get any useful info out of the show @MarriageLimbo?

@MammaTeeRoll - I don't know anything about whether or not "Dr." Phil has committed domestic violence (or any other crimes), but I feel obliged to point out that rumor aired on the news is still rumor.

I've googled it a number of ways, but I cannot find an article about him being arrested or any other kind of record.

My google skills may be lacking, though. . .

Seems to me he was married before Robin. Things might have gotten acrimonious.

@MammaTeeRoll - Can you post the links? I did read that he was punished for breach of ethics for inappropriate relations with a patient. (no arrest, but he faced professional punishments and closed his practice) I also read that his ex-wife accused him of various asshole activities, but I could not find anything that said he was arrested or charged. :(

I'll try to find it. Can't remember now where I read it, but I'll look it up. That he was married, I mean. I don't remember seeing anything about him being arrested.

Think her name was Debbie ... wasn't a long marriage.

I just read that the ex wife said he was "domineering" during the marriage. Seen there was a patient of his from 25yrs ago, saying he sexually harrassed/abused her. But I think that was from the national enquirer so...
And there were some lawsuits against him (britney spears 'intervention' and others)

    From Wikipedia:
McGraw married his first wife, an ex-cheerleader and homecoming queen
named Debbie Higgins McCall, in 1970, when he was 20 years old.

So he was married. The accusations that he was domineering/abusive were made in an unauthorized biography, so I would take them with a grain of salt. The article didn't mention anything about arrests of any sort, nor could I find anything helpful on Google. So I dunno.

@fatchickonabike - so you can't find any arrests or criminal charges either? Well, I feel a little better about my google skills.

Phil is the biggest douchebag alive. You don't need google to figure that out!! lol DO NOT take advice from that moron. EVER. I can't believe he is still on tv. I would rather get advice from Maury any day. Phil is a C*nt. A big one. L-)

I can say that while I don't personally watch Dr. Phil, a good friend of mine has worked for him for over 12 years and the 'rumors' are just that.. Rumors! His show has great topics (usually) that can help others either realize their situation or get the courage/info to get out of their situation!

@handtowelLady - please don't mistake my trying to confirm/refute rumors as a defense of "Dr." Phil. I have no interest in his brand of entertainment.

I like him, too. That doesn't mean I take him seriously! His show is great entertainment, but it's not psychotherapy!

I haven't gotten to finish it yet. DH came home and he changed to it to Fox News. I would have gone into the other room to watch it but it was on DVR. Maybe I will get to it today.
