    Yeah, I can't believe they were laughing either!  I had a very bad "church" experience.  When I was in 9th grade I started going to a youth group.  I had no idea about any of it.  For me, it was a place to go to get away from family life after school.  I spent all my extra time with my "church family".  I cared so much for these people (and still do some)  I did learn alot about the bible and Im thankful for that.  I was going through alot of crap at home and didnt know how to deal with it so it was a good outlet I guess you could say.  I had suspicions about my Dad being gay and brought it to them to help me work through it.  I lasted about 3 more months there before they pretty much turned me away because I said that I would still support him.  These people became like brothers and sisters to me.  I never understood how  Christians could treat people like that! I still dont and prolly never will.  It still hurts that I lost so many people that meant the world to me.  So, yeah, I get really pissed off when I read stuff like this.  It is scary to think that people like this are teaching this.  Its even scarier that so many others agree.

    UGHHHHHHH this is why I stopped going to church.

    I identify as a Christian but I am very open and love to learn about and learn from other beliefs. Right now I am finding amazing comfort and support from a book that deals with Buddhism and chronic illness.

    BUT back to the topic--I'll say it--WHAT THE FUCK?????

    Tell you what. I'm going to start a new religion and say that anyone who says stupid shit like this deserves a big ol can of whoop ass!

    My son who is 10 enjoys it when I paint his fingernails. He doesn't do if often--and it doesn't really last more than a day. But I do nail art on him and it's fun for both of us. It makes me SICK that someone would think it's ok to hit--or advocate--hitting him because of that!

    Although my son would probably counter with one of his judo moves and hurt the stupid fuck that tried it LOL.

    Karma baby. He will get his, sooner or later.

    There are so many things listed in the bible that are sins, but the teachers forget to mention those, I guess because they've accepted them as a normal part of lifestyle.
    My DD12 actually got into a discussion w her youth director about some of those sins ans she stumped him. YAY DD!
    (If drinking is a sin, why was there so much wine in the bible?)

Or at least walk out to show they don't approve of what he was saying. The bible says don't judge others, not don't judge others unless they are gay. Ugh!! This is a topic that just pisses me off.     @mommylicious4:  when I was a kid, my neighbor's son, fundamentalist Christians, and good friend said the only reason Jesus turned water into wine at the Wedding in Cana story is because the water in Biblical times wasn't clean/pure.  My response:  so why didn't He just purify the water?  I love pointing out logic flaws to Bible thumpers.

    I love this guy like a brother, and he's one of the nicest, kindest people I know/have ever known and he's now a minister, but sheesh, think about what you're saying boy!

    I'm just as devout to my religion as he is to his, I'm just Catholic and have a little common sense...

    Fayetteville, NC is a military town and it's my hunch that's why he got so much support and laughter. I lived there once upon a time. Yuck. This is a sad, sad, sermon. I believe this church/pastor are in the minority, though. I sure hope so!
