I love to go on vacations but hardly ever want to go because I hate the way my husband drives! I have horrible anxiety and I can't even enjoy myself! It makes me physically sick! I don't feel safe with him at all :(

This is me too! Just the other day we were driving and if I wouldnt have been watching and screamed, we would have been into the front seat of the car in front of us. I freaked out and he just kept saying you need to relax. Fuck that!! I need to watch because apparently YOU arent. Oh, and he was driving MY car.

I'm that way with my mother and her husband's driving...we go up to my step sis/BILs and they know to offer me a beer as soon as I'm out of the car!

This is my Dad.  He rides the brake.  Brakes for green lights, speeds through yellow.. forgets his signal on.  Cant pick a speed.

I remember once, and only once he drove me to one of my prenatal appts.  My blood pressure was through the roof, the nurse asked if I everything was ok. Said totally, my dad just drove me in is all.

I'm banned from driving if DD is with me, Or I have to drive 5 miles under the limit to satisfy Dw. She will not step into a vehicle I'm driving for 2 months when I get home.

Every bf I had I was scared to be a passenger in the car with. They like to speed by 15-30kms above the limit, tailgate, no signals, not slowing down for turns...shit it was scary. On the other hand they didn't like being a passenger in my car because I was a "grandma driver." Did the speed limit, signaled, stayed car length behind and use to only take backroads to where I was going.

My DH drives like at LEAST 15 mph under the speed limit, and it drives me NUTSO. Not like I'm Andretti or anything, but I'd like to get there sometime *today*...please?

And I almost posted a thread just like this earlier. I was justhisclose to throwing his damn phone out the window coming home today. You don't need to effing FB while you're driving. You just don't. You want to die in car wreck, screwing around on FB? Fine, but I'd prefer it if Spawn and I weren't in the car at the time.

I have GAD already... put on top that traffic gives me panic attacks... THEN lets add DH's penchant for speeding... he easily hits 80 on the freeway with a speed limit of 60, in our minivan!... then lets add a little dose of we don't have car insurance and DH drives on a suspended license... Yeah.. I'm scared when I am in the car.

Pretty sure if you asked DH, he would tell you he is scared to drive with me. He gets mad. I don't weave in and out of traffic or anything, but yeah I might go a little fast...

HOWEVER, driving back from Shenandoah today, he was driving and we rode the whole way in the right-hand lane doing 65 in a 70. Behind a semi. You can imagine what I was thinking. OMG LIKE I-66 IS NOT BAD ENOUGH ALREADY. CAN WE MOVE THINGS ALONG HERE PLEASE.

@boring_name that was my DH too! Driving with a suspended licence , no insurance and an out of date tag ! He liked to speed too. We got caught at a checkpoint and be went to jail. My dad ended up bailing him out. He still hasn't paied him back yet. He now has a good licence and insurance but still likes to speed some. I drive the speed limit and end up getting tailgated all the time. My dad is like me in the going the speed limit , but when he gets tailgated he likes to slam onthe breaks and or drive really slow just to piss off the car behind him. I am scared that one day he will piss off the wrong person.

@BellaBefana OMG EXACT same thing happened to me the other day! :( I feel your pain! On top of it, about two months ago, my kids and I had to ride with him somewhere (in my car) and he gets SO mad when someone turns... umm, okay, they have their blinker on, and they're turning as fast as they can! IMPATIENT!.... So he of course drives "around" the person, only that means going within a couple of inches of the guy's car apparently to prove a point... although, I don't know of any other point than Hey look at me! I'm an @$$hole driver!!!.... So anyways... a couple of weeks later I'm driving home from work and see a cop with 2 cars pulled over to the side of the road... one being my DH! UGH!!! Really?.... I've told him for YEARS not to drive so close and drive like a jerk, but does he listen!? NOO! So he was doing the thing where he got mad the guy was turning so slow and got TOO close this time... and scratched the guy's fender... fml...

My DH is an aggressive driver too. We went to a concert last weekend with friends and had THE BEST TIME. There was a mad rush in the parking lot to get out and he kept driving all over the lot, really fast, barely swiping other cars and the people hanging out, thinking that he could get us out faster for some reason. My friend and I kept yelling that we were afraid and to PLEASE slow down. He ignored us. His actions in that parking lot took away all the good times we had that evening. It's the same way with vacations and other evenings out. I don't like going anywhere with him for that reason. The potential for fun social events is always wiped out by his pig-headed douchebag behavior.

My dh is also an aggressive driver, and is very easily distracted behind the wheel.  Drives me so crazy that I've developed this weird coping mechanism:  whenever he drives, I immediately fall asleep.  I can't even help it.  I'm  terrified he'll kill us all and what do I do?  Fall dead asleep.  *rolling eyes*  He's convinced he is an excellent driver, but even our friends that ride with him white knuckle the oh-shit handles.

I guess I got lucky with my SO lol He has police training so I feel pretty damn safe with him driving even when he does go 10over the speed limit and luckily he saves the crazy police driving tactics for when we are out with out booger and I find them to be fun!

DF is a very good driver, but I HATE that he texts while driving! He could at least not do it while Bubby is in the car.

No license, no INS and driving crazy?  Not only putting you all at risk, but putting everyone else in danger :(

In my family Im the crazy driver...I do drive my minivan like I stole it...its not that Im an asshole..but seriously....if you are in the fast lane going the speed limit...gtf over...and if you are all over the place becuase youre on your phone, and if im in the car by myself, you better be paying attention becuase I will stop short to scare the SHIT outta you then laugh at you...oh and lastly, if you see signs telling you to merge and you speed past everyone to get in front...I will NOT let you in and Ill probably flip you off while passing your stupid ass (road rage anyone?)
Im pretty extraordinary in an ordinary way
