Introducing Scary Mommy of the Month!

    We want to show a fellow SM who is struggling through hard times just how wonderful she is. On July 1, one of our members will be crowned Scary Mommy of the Month and get a big boost financially and emotionally.

    Know someone who fits the bill? Read on.

    To be considered, the member must have at least 1,000 posts on the boards and be in a serious financial bind. Applications will stay open for a week, until June 13. The Scary Mommy Nation Board and Moderators will then review all applications and decide on a recipient. She will then be verified and, finally, crowned Scary Mommy of the Month. 

    The prize will be catered to her specific needs, but will have a value of between two and five thousand dollars.

    I want to nominate someone but I don't know their full name or the full name of their child. I also kind of know their city but I'm not sure. Also who should I get as my references? Other sm's?

    @eapple Other SM's (not mods, though, since they will help decide) are fine as references, and just put as much info as you have. 

    The SM Nation board and mods will collectively decide, based on need, number of nominations and their stories.

    This is so amazing. I can't believe how generous and thoughtful this group of women is. I can honestly say I have never felt a greater appreciation for a group of women--EVER! I hope someone worthy gets it. I don't know many people here very well and I don't share a whole lot of my struggles because I feel like financial difficulties are not something you advertise. So i don't really know much about others financial situations either. I won't be able to suggest anyone, but just know that i cried when I read how much would be given to the sm of the month. That is a huge gift and a life changing moment for someone truly deserving :((
    I prefer not to think before speaking. I like being just as surprised as everyone else by what comes out of my mouth.

    Love this idea!! I am still relatively new to this community, but I would just like to say how grateful I am that we have this resource. It has been helpful to me several times now. All of you are amazing!! And yes, I am now crying right along with you all.
