DD16 is playing the piano, and dgs 2-1/2 pitches in singing, Oh, Doo Daa Day! She wasn't even singing. Then she started playing "If You're Happy And You Know It." He didn't sing, but he clapped at the appropriate part of the song.
Happiness!
Do you sing and play songs a lot with your little ones?
-
yep, all the time, except I usually get told, "please don't sing mommy!"Bite me, cupcake!
-
I always have some sort of music going. I like to expose them to many different types/kinds of music. We also dance like we are fools a lot. But we don't care. We are having fun!U R who U think U R
"You were the truth I would rather lose than to have never lain beside at all" -
Yes!!! All the time! My dad's side of the family is very musical, so I've been playing guitar, drums, piano, trumpet, clarinet, sax, flute, and bass since I was itty bitty. DS3 has a guitar and drum set too so we can rock out together. He sings made up songs all the time and seems to have that natural musicality that I inherited. My garage is NOT for cars...it's for instruments!

We love to sing and dance. Dd will be sitting her car seat bobbing her head with the beat of the music it's sooo adorable!not my chair, not my problem
-
My 10 month old loves and I mean loves music. She's constantly bobbing to music, even commercials. They had that target commercial with the French song and the people in the hot air ballon. LO would stop what she was doing to watch/listen. I had to guy buy the song for my iPod. She has a light up piano and sw plays it and sings her little music that only she understands.

I play music all the time for my DS 5 months. Mostly country music...but I will listen to anything.
I am a horrible singer but I sing loud and proud. I am that annoying girl in church that sings off key but you can hear above everyone else. My son LOVES my singing....I just KNOW IT!
My beach is still Sandy.... -
I play music and we all dance like crazy people and have a blast :DIf you change their diaper, they will immediately poop in the new one.
If you mop the floor, they will spill something.
If you put on fresh socks, you will immediately step on whatever was spilled.
If you're tired, they will not be.
If you love them, you will see the beauty in it all. -
We play music all the time. Dh and I both sing, together and separate pretty much weekly at church. Our DS's have sang with us a few times. We love lots of different types of music but we really like classic rock. My DS10 knows almost every single Queen song and loves performing them for anyone who will listen...LOL
I ain't afraid to love a man, I ain't afraid to shoot him either! ~ Annie Oakley
Would I rather be feared or loved? Ummm easy, both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me. ~Micheal Scott -
I play the flute and piccolo. Both DDs were in choir in intermediate school (4th and 5th grade). DD14 plays the clarinet. DD12 plays the tuba...you did read that right, my daughter plays the tuba. I told my DS10 that if he'd play the accordion we could have ourselves a nice little family polka band. :) He's not interested though (not a big surprise). He has a wonderful singing voice when he thinks no one is listening and his elementary music teacher has praised his ability on the recorder. I have already told him that in 6th grade he WILL be in band with his choice of instrument. (After 6th grade he can choose for himself.) Music education has so many benefits for a developing brain, especially in math/reasoning.
I am totally loving hearing my girls on their instruments. My older DD will start marching band this year and as a band nerd I'm totally excited for that. I really can't wait for my younger daughter to start marching band too. She's such an itty bitty beanpole that seeing her march with a sousaphone is just gonna be surreal.
If I'm not supposed to do it, how come I can? -
That is awesome, Etheriel! Our town is so small that we don't have a marching band. The do "march" in one parade a year, and sort of march at the home football games. Their music is good, but the marching is something they only practice for a few days before the parade, so they totally suck. I grew up in a high school that competed and won nationally, so it is totally different!
Recently dgs has started learning "clarinet" (actually a plastic recorder). He plays along while dd plays her clarinet. So darling!

We have a studio in the house & my hubby works in the music industry so the kiddos hear all types of music almost all day long. They love it and love to "play" with the studio equipment of course with dad at the helm. He makes them CDs of their singing all the time and he and dd write songs together all the time.

DS broght me his uke and said " sing happy song !!" I tried several songs ( twinkle star, over the rainbow, even tiptoe through the tulips ) he got frustrated with me took it back and sang " happy , happy , happy , song!!! Rock and roll!!!" while dancing and head banging. Lol it was great ! He has been listening to a lot of Kiss with his dad." Wibbly wobbly timey wimey ......." The Doctor
" I'm a leafe on the wind..watch how I soar ." Wash :((
" Oh the wall had it comming.' Sherlock Holmes
