Love it? Hate it? I am thinking about getting it for dd because she loves to chew on our fingers. Since her legs are separate she could chew on her legs instead.

Any other good baby toys you know of also? Not teethers, just toys in general.

All of the babies I know who have had one have loved them, I couldn't ever justify the cost of it so Rylee never had one.

@onmylastnerve, thank you! How will I pay you for the shipping though? I have never seen one for real, just pictures.... What kind of material is it made out of?

I got one for dd under peer pressure, and she LOVED it, it is hard to justify the cost at first but she showed me how worth it it was.  Also it will be passed down to the next one.

Every one I knew found if really difficult to justify the price but it ended up being worth it for their babies.

I didn't even look at the price! L, I am that tired of dd chewing on our fingers, you never know how clean they are! Then I'm scared to use soap or hand sanitizer because what if I don't get it all off and she eats that, will it make her sick?! So when I saw another kid with one I decided to buy it! I just hope she likes it!

DS has a so so relationship with his. Chomped on it for a week and that was it. To me, it was nothing more than a dog toy for kids but I know my niece loved it.

DS loved his Sophie. We also had one of the mushroom type of the same brand. He chewed on it constantly. Best baby gift we received!, considering he started teething at 3 mos and cut his first tooth at four and a half months.

DD2 loved hers that squeaked, but it got thrown out. DD7mths has the smaller one that does not squeak and has handles. She uses it sometimes. She likes to chew on her wubbanub. One thing to be caution about it that the squeak sound just like a dog toy. We had a younger big dog that wanted it everytime DD made it squeak.

Good think we don't have a dog! What is a wubbanub?

And I saw that other sophie when I went to look at them, they manufactured it because people were calling the original a choking hazard because kids would stick her legs down their throat aparently.

I see these everywhere! I never got one but always wanted to. Meh. Maybe if I ever have another one. Weird though bc my dd 2 is crazy about giraffes now!

My son LOVES it.  I thought my boyfriends eyes were going to bug out of his head when I showed him a $20 "dog toy".  But he even agrees the thing has been a godsend.  Granted, every once in a while he will jam it pretty far in his throat and kind of gags, but he has never choked on it.

We had one..DS still preferred fingers and random toys.

We just got one for DS 4 mo and he likes it.  He has been teething for a week and having a rough time with it, but the Sophie seems to help for a while.  He is pretty irritable right now, so nothing lasts for more than 10 minutes at a time.

It is a very expensive chew toy...but as said above it was a godsend on many occasions. Now that dd is 18mo she still walks around with it beating on random things with it because it squeaks. It does get really dirty really quickly, I soak hers in vinegar and baking soda.

@Monkeynmoo - A wubbanub is a pacifier that has a small stuffed animal attached to it. Neither of my girls took a pacifier, but both got a wubbanub for a gift so they used them as teethers. They chewed on the pacifier as well as the animal.
