Ok so I've been putting this off for a few months. I finally made an appointment with my primary doctor to discuss a few things.
I was on a generic form of Wellbutrin since last September and it worked great, at first. Then I felt just like I did before I started taking it. I liked the decrease in appetite but that stopped also. I stopped taking it on my own about two months ago. I feel like I've been at an all time low and need something but just not Wellbutrin anymore.
I also have been getting very bad headaches. It's been like this for over a year and it's just getting worse to the point where my head hurts all day. It will get really bad and sounds and light will send me thru the roof. I also get random nose bleeds too.
I'm horrible at talking to people about these problems, even my doctor. I thought maybe my scary mommies could help me figuire out a quick simple way to approach these problems without me chickening out. Also if any of you have any medications you recommend that I should ask her about please let me know.
Thanks! :) -
Write it all down then give it to your doc to read. I've done that before when too afraid/embarrassed to 'talk' to my doc about something.I love purple; I love cats. Imagine if cats were purple ...

Yes, I was going to suggest the same thing. Write it down, even if it is just a list, and give that too the doc. They he can go through it point by point. Honestly though hun, you shouldn't worry about being embarassed in front of your doctor. Trust me. He's seen crazier people than you :) He became a doctor because he genuinely wants to help you, and he can't do that unless you let him know everything that's wrong. He's not going to be judgmental, he's not going to give you a "look", he is a professional and he will act like one. Don't forget that whatever you tell him is confidential as well. If you feel like you can't trust your doctor for some reason, you are also free to choose a different one, so maybe it is time to shop around and see if you can find someone you are more comfortable confiding in!

Please please don't chicken out. Write it down call them email whatever you have to do. I also took welbutrin and have had horrible headaches and nosebleeds. Mine also cause slurred speech and vomitting. I have had MRI's and CT Scans and a battery of other tests and they still do not know what is causing it. I am no longer on welbutrin but I am taking 2 different seizure meds every night to keep the headaches at bay and they work 95% of the time. I am taking zonesmide and nortriptiline. One of these is an appetite suppresent the other makes you crave sweet carby foods...I figure they cancel each other out bc the combination works for me! Chronic headaches are no fun especially when they don't know why please get the ball rolling so they can start trying to figure it out!!

Ditto what everyone else said. and you may be int hat teeeeeny group that this only happens to. Wellbutrin is just one of mannnny anti depressants. Tell him how you felt on it in the beginning... but there are many others. most people have to try a couple before they find the magic one (or magic ONES)
I personally take Abilify and Effexor
Wellbutrin is listed on my charts as an allergy med. I was on it less than a month and was in my upper 20s... I had my last few days of life planned out. Had given away EVERYTHING (literally. I let all my neighbors in my apt complex come in and take everything. food. forks. couch. tv. everything) my kitties were last to go (I wanted them in a good life. not just a random give away)
when I realized one night "wait a sec... this can't possibly be normal." lol
A week later I was feeling better in a psych unit as they got me off the wellbutrin and put me on... something else. *shrugs* this was like 9 years ago so can't remember what.
all that above ^^^^^^ is saying that my suicidal thoughs were way out of the norm for someone my age on a new med. as are your headaches and nose bleeds. it doesn't mean it doesn't happen!
I take lists to my drs all the time. otherwise I forget something that may be important! :)
Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim. -
I am a list whore so I will have to agree with everyone. Write it all down. Put it on your fridge or something & jot notes down whenever it pops into your head. Then just hand it to the dr. They will take it from there.
Just a side note: generic wellbutrin sucked for me...headaches, dizziness, etc. But the name brand was awesome! And like @luvlyssa said, there are a ton of meds out there. Some will work for you, others won't. Don't be afraid to tell your dr "this isn't working" & tell them why. -
Thank you ladies so much. I think I will write everything down just in case I get nervous and can't tell her what I want to. I really like my doctor and she's very understanding, I just get nervous. I just worry, I'm going to be 24 on the 23rd and I just shouldn't feel like this :(
Thank you all, really it means so much that you all take the time to read my post and respond. >:D< -
I don't really have any advice, but I want to tell you that your post made me feel a bit better. I'm going through some shit that honestly is scaring me, I thought I got it sorted out back in the spring, but clearly I haven't. I'm finally going back to the Dr on Thursday after months of pretending to be fine. I don't want to hijack your thread, but knowing someone else has a hard time talking to their Dr about this stuff makes me feel a little less weird.
>:D< -
@demanda hijack away! >:D< I'm glad this was able to make you feel better. I hope you find the answers to what is wrong. My appt is Thursday also, you'll be in my thoughts! :)
