I want to add how proud I am of DH. It took a lot of courage for him to leave the job he had. It was good pay but a job he hated. Even if this dosent work out I'm so proud of him for taking that leap and going for something he loves. It will be a pay cut and things will still be tight but he will be happy.

Yes! It does take a lot of faith to do something like that! It's something my ex would not do. He was miserable where he worked and it rubbed off in his very limited time at home. I begged him to quit and go somewhere else or try a new career!
I'm proud of him for you, that he valued his family enough to do something do important for himself! Hope that makes sense! -

You should be proud of your dh. It takes a lot of courage and faith to take the steps he did. I hate my job, like hate it a lot. I am miserable. And I know this does not make me a good person, but I can't see a way out. I can understand the fear that your dh must have felt, but in the long run it will be so much better for his sanity and happiness. So YAY to dh. And YAY to you for standing beside him and letting him follow his heart and dreams.

Fantastic news! :)I love purple; I love cats. Imagine if cats were purple ...

I got to over thinking this last night now I'm worried. The guy said they MAY be opening another position no gaurentee. He wants him to come in when another mechanic is on vacation. I have a sinking feeling he is usin DH for temp work just to have bodies in the shop those days. He is paying him 10 an hour then they will discuss his normal pay rate if the 3 days for well. He also wants DH to bring his tool box in (huge tool box taller then me). So part of me really thinks he is serious about hiring DH. I'm just so freaking nervous. DH plans to stay late every day of the trial if they need/ allow him too. I know DH would sell his soul for this job, I'm just so worried its a "scam". Please tell me I'm just freaking out over nothing please.

Stress and a constant stream of fuckery will make you skeptical. BTDT too broke to afford the t-shirt. He's got this! Take a deep breath mama! Everything will work itself out!

Regardless of whether they plan to keep him or not, he's got his foot in the door, and many an illustrious career has been launched that way. Even if they don't keep him right away, if he works his ass off and makes a good impression, they'll be calling as soon as they have another opening. At the very least it will be a few days' pay coming in, and that's nothing to sneeze at. I know he'll do great. >:D<"The most essential gift for a good writer is a built-in, shock-proof bullshit detector.” - Ernest Hemingway

I completely agree with @fatchickonabike (I have a hard time writing your name : ) ) Get a foot in the door. I think most people know how much work it is to move tool boxes like that so in my opinion I would think they are fairly sure he will work out otherwise they would let him use house tools. What will he be doing?

Yes, this! ^
This is great news!
It does sound like a little test, but considering he was blindsided by an impromptu interview
& his last job was in a different field entirely...it's to be expected.
Can't imagine they'd bother training him for only 3 days of work unless they're seriously interested
in him. Tell him not to be nervous, get a good night's rest before & he'll do great...
Congrats!! Really happy things are going well for you! You've been through a lot & being pregnant on top of it...lot of pressure. >:D< Hope this the start of a real upswing for you! -
Whooping it up for your hubby over here. Congrats!

My hubby is a mechanic as well. I really can't see them asking him to bring in his toolbox if they aren't planning on him staying. Those things are a pain in the ass to move!!! Good luck :)
