Of course I just a bit with the title ;)

I am a SAHM of DD1.5 that babysits 2 children (3/5)  in my home as well. They need something to do! So far Iv done some crafts, let them color, made homeade playdough (Ill post the link below) and of course let them watch cartoons/family movies on Netflix. I just didn't want them to be spending all of their time in front of the laptop, yanno? I live in an apartment near a busy clinic that uses our parking lot as well, playing outside has to be a monitored event that doesn't entail much...bubbles mostly...and so we are in the apartment the majority of the time.

What's your best suggestions for activities? Crafts, games, things that won't make them kill each other?

    Lol @fatchickonabike

Hey if you want American Netflix, I can tell you how. A professor just told me how to do it, and US Netflix is WAY better!!

Get a play pool and some buckets, Rylee will pour water back and forth forever, lol.

We do a ton of painting, puzzles, ring around the Rosie and head and shoulders. And I have started working on letter recognition by drawing a capital and small letter at the top of a page and then small words containing that letter and having lily circle the ones she can find. I'm planning on starting circle time in the mornings where we start with head an shoulders then talk about the weather and the their moods ect.

@eapple I totally thought of you with this thread. I did your activity cards for the day and have them on my fridge but havn't been following then :P With these 2 older kids though they just need activities. Painting would be a good one (if I get to the dollarama or something) they get here around 5am so for me to do circle time in the morning I would have to be A) on drugs or B) Reincarnated as MaryEffinPoppins :P

It's a service that will make your router appear like its visiting the US; www.unblock-us.com. It's legal (huge bonus), costs $4.99 a month and will open up US Netflix with your Canadian Netflux account (Hulu and pandora are also now working for me). It's literally going from 1250 choices to over 12 000 choices!

@mommydelirious dont worry we dont do the cards everyday, they're just really helpful on days when I have no clue what I am going to do! I vote for a reincarnated mary poppins on drugs, pleeeeease!

oh, the girls and I just made noodle necklaces from penne yesterday. its actually pretty time consuming for little hands. just have them color the penne with markers or crayons and then watch as they desperatly try to string some ribbon through them. If you want to be nice tape the end of the string or ribbon to make it like a needle.

If you've got some spare pavement, let the kids draw on the pavement with sidewalk chalk and then use a little bit of vinegar and backing soda on top to make bubbly chalk drawings; check it out on pinterest or google.

Time for a conversation with the hubs about signing up! This has frustrated me for years. Thanks!

Play hot lava game, throw pillows, towels, blankets on the floors, and have them run around the house on these items avoiding the hot lava, kids love it and it tires them out! Then when your dont see who can pick up the items fastest! It wont be too much of a mess since they will race to clean up!
I am your mother 1st, and your friend 2nd! I will always love you, but it is my responsibilty to make you a decent man for when you get older. You will thank me once your married, and will understand why I did the things I did while raising you!
