I started this blog as a hobby. Simply a fun way to fill a few hours and have a record of my children’s early days. Except like so many other hobbies of mine, I didn’t tire of it after a few months. In fact, nearly two years later and I love this little world more than ever. Except for one little thing: This hobby, which has become more of a job, doesn’t pay the bills.
But… I’ve found something that does. I am happy to share with you that I have started a job. A real, 40 hour a week job. But unlike every other job I’ve ever had, it doesn’t feel like work, because it’s what I’ve loved doing without ever getting paid. I am now the community manager at Nickelodeon’s Parents Connect. The company motto is “We’re not prefect, we’re parents,” perfectly summing up my take on motherhood. I will be managing the twitter account, Facebook account and the message boards. So, basically, I will be writing and building relationships on-line, planning fun events and interacting with amazing people. Just like I have here.
It’s been a bit tough needing to know what day of the week it is and talking to actual grown ups during the day. I can no longer nap when Evan gets up at 4 in the morning and I may even need to start wearing a watch. But, I can still do it from the couch in my pj’s. I think I’ll survive.
I am working on a few exciting projects that I can’t wait to share with you! In the meantime, I’d love you to pop in and visit me. I’m way less scary than I am here.

We’ve only met on line recently, but I want to congratulate you on your job:)
I was home with my kids for ten years, and then returned to work as a teacher. After three years, I am home again, this time working in my pajamas just like you. It’s hard with three little ones, and you will certainly have your ups and downs, but after seeing how dedicated you’ve been to your blog, I’m sure you will be great!
I’m guessing the only downside is that you won’t be able to curse like a sailor on their sites:)
