A look back at Benji’s early years, as we get ready to celebrate his third birthday on Saturday…
(P.S. I’m taking my baby to have his tonsils and adenoids removed next Wednesday. Happy birthday, little guy. I stumbled upon this post and am now scared shitless. Has anyone gone through this? Any tips for him? Me?

So cute…I am sorry he needs surgery…I will think of both of you! God bless!
awwwww….I love him! what a sweetie! Poor little boy having to get his tonsils out. He’ll totally be ok. Lots and lots and lots of cuddles and ICE CREAM!!!
Hope he has a great bday.
My hubs had the surgery done about two years ago. Luckily, they say kids bounce back fairly quickly.
Loved the photos of Ben! I hope he has a fabulous birthday tomorrow.
If you need any help next week then please dont hesitate to call or e-mail…seriously. Just remember that I am only an hour away :-)
Such a sweet video.
Happy Birthday Big Boy.
Adorable little guy!
Will had the works done at 3 and a half. He did have some pain on waking but as long as I kept up the painkillers he was fine. He was sat up eating crisps in bed about 15 hours after surgery! We have never looked back.
That was a beautiful video. Your family is gorgeous. My 6 year old had her adnoids and tonsils out a year and a half ago: Just be prepared to cry when they wheel him away, and really only the first couple days are rough. Make sure you give them the pain medication exactly when needed and stock up on popsicles and icecream or whatever is his favorite. My little girls sleeps like a baby now and is amazingly healthier than ever before. Good luck and I’m sending my prayers.

He is so cute! Happy birthday!
Oh, how adorable! Happy birthday!
What a wonderful photo montage. Happy Birthday, Benji! :)
My friend’s son (Ben!) had his out, and she was struck with the how upset he was when he threw up after surgery. Apparently it often happens, blood gets into the stomach. Throwing up blood is NOT FUN and is SCARY so be there with a dark-coloured container to catch it and hide it away. Several containers, even. And some red or multi-coloured hand towels for wiping up. He doesn’t need to see blood, poor guy. Good luck! I bet you will be glad when it’s over, and he will bounce back and be better than ever.
Oh no! Poor guy. We’ve never been through it and with anysurgery there is risk but so many of these procedures go well. Focus on that. Easier said than done right?
I say this often, but thank you for letting me escape in your world. That was a great video, and song!
Feisty
great video! do you get choked up just watching that?
Awwww, what a cutie.
My little one (2 at the time) had his tonsils out last year. We had two days of being miserable, and eating only chocolate ice cream or jelly, but besides that it was fine. Not scary at all.
Thinking of you both.
Hey SM! Long time no chat. Sorry to hear that your little man will have to have his tonsils and adenoids done.
I was about six when I had mine done. I remember that it sucked b/c everyone told me I could have all of the ice cream I would care to eat. Wouldn’t you know it, I didn’t want a thing to do with it after my surgery. I remember it being a tough couple days after surgery, but I was soon back in school and had put it behind me.
The beauty of getting it done at this age is that he will have few memories of the unpleasantness. It will definitely both you more than him.
I hope that both of you recover quickly. :)
Hello, and sorry for my mind. Stories like yours certainly motivate me to keep going & make me realise what’s possible canine and So it goes. canine and, KEEP IT UP…
Ohmygoodness sweet friend! That was priceless & adorable! (And how great is that song?!) Happy birthday to your little man! I hope that everything goes well with his tonsils and adenoids! Hang in there, Mama!!

Glad I didn’t read some of these posts before my child went into surgery. The younger the better for this surgery. It seems to be more painful the older you get. My child did perfectly fine even though I was totally stressed. She was up and playing in bed the next day. Never had throwing up or any of the scary things some of these people are mentioning. Some people really should chill on the scary comments. Good luck after all that was said in calming your nerves.
Didn’t get to see the video (on my blackberry) but definitely encourage fluids and icepops to avoid dehydration. Stay away from milk-based products (if you can) to avoid mucus and therefore coughing and therefore bleeding and therefore…I’ll stop here, no sense worrying an already worried mama. Good luck, Ben (and Jill!).
Love the montage. Who sings that song?

Euhm… so congrats on your (or Ben’s) contract deal with Sony Music Entertainment? lol
