I balled and balled when the ultrasound lady told me my first child with Jeremiah was going to be a boy. I had three girls with my ex and thought that was the only way to go, girls girls girls. I grew up with two younger brothers and didn’t get a sister till I was 17…
Now there is this whole fascination with how very boy-like he is. He makes sound effects constantly, he climbs on and over everything, he hates lying still to get dressed or his diaper changed, he doesn’t talk nonstop…he actually doesn’t say much at all.
Love it! I would have seriously lost it if I was having a girl. I was so glad to see boy parts I called out his gender before the ultrasound tech could. The debate in our house about having another centers on how we would feel about having a girl; my husband is fine, I am terrified.
haha, wait, did you sob because you were happy or because they were boys? Because I would totally do that. I’m a Girl Scout Leader and I need a future Girl Scout.
well those tears of ‘total horror’ were wasted as your kids turned out to be good eggs, just like you are a stellar Mom. all that worrying for ’nuffing.
Your boys are absolutely adorable!! I was really happy to find out I was having a girl – only because she was the ultimate miracle and would end up being our only…and after hubby regaled me with stories of what he was like as a child, I was REALLY hoping for a girl…of course I’m probably going to be wishing she were a boy when we hit the teen years down the road…(grin!!)
@Nicole- I ONLY wanted girls— I just had no idea what to do with boys- I hate sports, dirt etc. and have just always been a girly girl. But I am SO glad I ended up with them, I’m not sure I could handle the drama of three girls!
and OK, Swirl. Let’s start planning now. I have a whole binder of wedding ideas to implement– is that a problem? :)
You know, all Henry the Eighth (king who had 6 wives and chopped off two of their heads) wanted was sons. If you had been his wife he probably would have showered you with jewelry and presented you with a gold encrusted fountain. (Apparently, they were all the rage back then.)
When we found out Monsoon was a boy, my husband actually apologized to me. hahha! I agree with your statement all the way. (and those boys are totally adorable)
I never imagined myself as the mother of boys…I didn’t know what to do with them…but I love being the mother of boys now. LOVE it and can’t imagine anything else. I hear ya.
