Selective Deafness

What part of “Yes, you may pick a flower, but please stay out of the pool because you just got dressed” did he not comprehend?

I’ve heard that child prodigy’s do that. :) I’m LOVING this. I’m glad my kids aren’t the only really excellent selective listeners around.

Loved your guest post at Lit and Laundry!

Okay that’s funny…these kids just don’t care if they are wet or dirty or whatever! To be young.

Selective hearing never goes away – it’s a male gene – my son has perfected the art! bah!

But what a cute picture nonetheless, and he’s so pleased with himself – I suspect the flower needed water :)

When I tell my kids they can go outside and do something I have to make sure and say don’t climb in the trees, stay out of the pool. Because if i don’t they will do and then say you didn’t say I couldn’t. It’s funny how kids are. I will check out the thumbs up after school.

I’m glad my youngest isn’t the only one suffering from this problem. LOL! At least he’s having a good time.

I just tagged you for a meme. If you’re interested, come by and check it out. :-)

When I was younger if there was water nearby, be it a pool, fountain or a puddle, I was in it! So I can totally understand the overwhelming urge to climb in, even fully clothed.

Loved your Wal-Mart story as well.
Thank you for the sweet comments on my blog!

Yeah, my kids do that too. But I did to with my parents too. My parents were right, what comes around goes around!

I just found you and am adding you to my favs! You are HILARIOUS and your kids are just like mine-except that mine are 23, 21, 20, 16, 13, & 11 (not counting the step-kids). And they still only hear what they want. Idiots. jk…kinda

Reason #14 to make Bacon Cups: because it’s Wednesday. (It is Wednesday, right?) I just found your site too and agree with Jill Jill Bo Bill!

HEYYYYY I tried stumble upon. I added your blog, did a review. Check. I wanted to see other blogs that might match my style (is that what it’s supposed to do?) and no luck. Yours is the only one I see. Ummmm am I doing something wrong? Still trying to get this whole technology-thingie easier. Seems to be getting harder…. stumble, feedburner, twitter, blogger, UGH!

Yup, Angie- only the brightest and most gifted children ignore mom ;)

Tash- that is a brilliant way of looking at it.

And the rest of you guys are making my evening. Thank you for all of the sweet comments. You are inflating my cyber head!!!

…And Jill, I really just can’t comprehend the number of children you have. How on earth do you do it????

My Deaf kid ignores me when I sign to him…. they’re all the same…

I wondered what that stumble thing was…. gonna check it out.

My husband would go absolutely crazy over the bacon cups! He would use them for everything.

My husband also has selectinve hearing too! It doesn’t go away!

But look at the joy on his face….see I can do that with other people’s kids…
Off to stumble as instructed…

LOL. I’ve been there. What about “only use” a little bit of toilet paper….”we don’t waste” only to find half the roll unfurled in the toilet. GRRRR. My site is much more practical (less musing for sure), but check it out. Any humorous Back to School tips would be appreciated.
