Lily is a fantastic artist– her fine attention to detail and hard work pay off– she’s created some real masterpieces at the young age of six. I’m really quite proud.
She’s also produced a fair number of “what the fuck?” pieces, such as this latest one:
It’s actually a ballerina dancing, I’m told, along with the letter “L” formed by two fingers. I totally see now that it’s been explained, but it still looks like something from a horror movie to me. I may indeed have nightmares.
They can’t all be winners, I suppose. So, I’m expecting something amazing any day now.

OMG!! Me too! said WTF?! out loud!!! but as soon as I scrolled down and saw the second penis I was like “Ooooooooooooh!! its a finger shaped like an L” and that was without reading moms explanation so either that means @ times I think like a 6 y.o. or since Im an Art Collector I know WTF?! art when I see it. LOL!
Actually, aside from the dismemberment, I’m quite impressed! Her ballerina is not a stick figure (good body image) and the detail in the fingers in very detailed. Maybe she can teach my 7 year old son how to draw! Between his stick figure battle scenes and her serial killer ballerina, they could create something REALLY horrific ;0)
Definitely a little hint of Dali in there. Or Glee. Let’s go with Glee. Either way, the art teacher in me LOVES to see such visually expressive kids!

It looks like the ballerina might have cut her fingers off, perhaps with a band saw, judging by the blood squirting straight up into her hair. The fingers have obviously fallen to the ground and become rather large in the process.

It could be worse. My son now hates Map from Dora the Explorer. I think it has something to do with the fact that he has grown beyond Dora but Sissy Girl has not. Anyways, he has taken to drawing pictures of dead Map from time to time. It kinda disturbs me even though I have been told it is typical for a boy.
