That’s all right. My 5 year old was out with the flu for 3 days. In his first writing assignment after going back, he wrote that he got to play video games every day when he was sick. This, of course, was completely untrue. Add to that the fact that I’ve ranted to the school about how they should not substitute a movie for playground time on cold days as screen time is bad for kids when you want them to attend in class–and now his teacher’s like “Yeah, no movie but he can play video games all day. Right.”

A week and a half? Try a UK 3 and a bit weeks on for size due to extra Royal Wedding induced extra national holidays. Truth be told, I like the holidays. No early school run, no frantic scramble not to be late… Kids glad to be back to school now though.

The Happiest Place on Earth – ha! You crack me up. My son makes things up on a daily basis about what he does and where he goes. Granted, he’s 2-1/2 but he’s going right down the Ben-dom path.

In second grade I told my Teacher we went to China over summer break. I remember the other kids talking about all the fun places the went over summer break and when it was my turn I looked up at the wall and there was a picture of chinese children. So I just said I went to China. At my Parent/Teacher conference my Teacher asked my mom how our trip to the Orient went. I don’t even remember what she said to me about it later but it was a big joke in my family for years!!!

No this is awesome….. we once tried to convince the kids that we had already been to Disneyland… only they were too young to remember and to bad about that fire that burnt all the photos…. okay so they bought it and we felt like heels and fessed up….. think of the money we could have saved.

I would totally embrace the lie, by the end of the week he will really believe he went. Cheapest Disneyland vacation you ever went on.
