Behold the most relatable maternity photo shoot, ever

What is with a mom’s obsession with Target? If you don’t already know, this is nothing that can be explained. Trying to explain why Target is the absolute best would be like trying to explain why rainbows are beautiful or chocolate is delicious. It just is. The end.

A genius photographer decided to stage a pregnancy shoot in the place all moms find themselves, constantly. And why not? Target robs our wallets and sucks up our time and we still love it. It’s the perfect metaphor for motherhood — it takes all you have, and you still adore it.

Heather Pippin is the photographer behind Inspired by a True Story Photography. When her fellow photographer friend Page Miller of P&T Photography became pregnant, they knew they’d need an epic photoshoot to celebrate the milestone. That’s when the two thought of Target, aka the perfect place for the shoot.

Page is currently pregnant with her third baby — a rainbow baby. “A few months back Page’s three month old son Clarke passed away from SIDS,” Heather tells Scary Mommy. “We didn’t plan the shoot based off of her being pregnant or baby Clarke, but it has turned into a positive way to really show how tough of a Mom Page is and I am happy for that!”

Heather explains that the happiest person about the shoot was Page’s daughter, Avery. “That’s all we wanted. She had a lot of fun.”

She also explains they were as “discrete as possible to not bother business and to be respectful.” On her Facebook post about the shoot she admits, “Surprisingly nobody thought we were too weird except Brad, Page’s husband, who would not be seen with us on this day.”

“This was so much fun, a creative way to pay homage to all those awesome Target Moms out there. The ones with the messy buns, half empty before you even make it to the back of the store Starbucks cups, toys you aren’t really buying and cheese balls to get you through the store.” Yes, to all of this. Is Heather following us around the store, or are we all exactly the same?

Congratulations, Page! We won’t be surprised if we start seeing Target maternity shoots popping up everywhere.
